Re: Tyre failure or over run tyre.

I don't buy the debris on track explanation. TV coverage of Stroll's car on the flatbed showed that the sidewall had separated at least 40% of the way round the tire at/near tread line. I can't see how such comprehensive damage can be caused by debris not visible on TV. And Pirelli's contention that...

Re: How to solve a problem like Monaco...

With each passing year, Monaco becomes more and more archaic. Verstappen's lap record two years ago (1:14.xx) has now been exclipsed this year with Hamilton's 1:12.9. I loved watching the Monaco GP from 1964-1994. The course begs to be revised, but tradition dictates that it isn't. Today, the only e...

He was a F2 driver and team owner in the late 1960s and co-founded March in 1969. A vice-wdc in 1971 and several GP wins (the last being by Ronnie Peterson in Monza '76) in F1 and many wins and titles in F2 - March was quite a successful company. Late in 1977 he became legal advisor to Ecclestone's...

Nice livery, but... yawn already. Looks like a team in F1 has adopted a NASCAR "retro" or "throw-back" weekend color scheme, and that comparison isn't good. It truly is impossible to please some people... Actually I'm quite easy to please, just that when I reminisce of the period, the Gulf liveries...

Not sure where all the Alonso love is coming from, he was beaten by Ocon who hasn't really shined. Because Alonso qualified significantly lower and made a lot of race gains. Even at that, he jumped from 13th to 7th due to everyone else pitting, and was back to 11th on his pit stop. He then managed ...

This American doesn't see why the US needs a second GP. It was more or less proven in the 1980's that multiple races -- no matter how far spaced -- were not sustainable among the fanbase in the US. COTA is a wonderful, purpose-built F1 track, with the elevation changes that make it even better. A ra...

My understanding is that the current smaller wheels were to limit the size of brake components... to limit braking performance. With much larger rims, has there been any rule change to specify brake rotor size, etc.?

I can't imagine 7G braking performance with these 18" wheels.

I will shake up the predictions, based on what needs to be said... The best driver pairing is one where there is a dominant driver and a compliant second driver that (desired or not) supports the dominant driver. Accordingly, here is how I voted in the poll: 1 Mercedes 2 Ferrari 3 Aston Martin 4 Red...

In terms of the wing mirrors, why not adopt road car tech and have a feed for the driver of his rear mounted camera? That would be more stable and allow fewer blind spots than the traditional mirrors. I completely agree. Since all F1 cars have airbox mounted TV cameras, why not give each driver acc...

Teams hire drivers. Teams don't hire part owners.
Brabham, McLaren, Hill, Fittipaldi, Amon - and if sons count: Stroll, Latifi.
All these people bought into their team, IIRC. Rumor has it Hamilton wants part ownership without investing himself.
