The only thing better than dragging trainloads of sponsorship money with you (like Perez) is having daddy buy the team for you. I think Stroll has made the most in having a safe place to learn and progress. Few other drivers get such a safe haven. So far, so good. But, having progressed well to date...

IIRC, I remember Ferraris being LAPPED by the dominant Williams at several races, 1990-1992. That's pretty bad compared with today.

Frankly, aside from the early years (50s-60s), I can't recall Ferrari as dominating ANY period other than the Schumacher era.

Looks like everyone are burning up the Softs in FP1, so they can save Mediums and Hards for the rest of the weekend, save one set of Softs for the last 2 minutes of Q3 I assume.

Good to see Kubica participate in FP1 for Alfa Romeo. I assume it's just for FP1, and that GIO will return for FP2?

I liked the second race more, because it was less marred by race organizers contriving to engineer the results with safety cars and controversial penalties.

Watching three cars in a photo finish at the line was also a thrill.
