Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

The most blame I could see fair on Hamilton is 5-10% for not turning is a hair tighter I would like to see the size of your hair. Or perhaps rather not... ;) LMAO! I almost spit my coffee all over my screen! Sadly, I'm approaching the half century mark so these days, I'm thinning up front. :uhoh: S...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

I readily believe Hamilton had understeer, he certainly didn't use his full steering lock. But we all know that's not necessarily what is going to help when your speed is simply too high for the line you have chosen. Which makes me wonder what his planning for overtaking at Copse on Sunday had been...

To be fair to Masi he was new to the job and perhaps finding his feet, I think he is now finding a better way were stewards decisions can be more consistent, with the Austria 2019 incident it was an obvious cop out for political reasons, at the time to find Leclerc partly responsible was ridiculous...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

Round in circles and all that, you both have a point. Is too much being made of the understeer. Was there even enough time between turn in and collision to say he had loads. It didnt look like your classic wheel on full lock but car going straight. If anything id say lewis picked his line and stuck...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

I just tried to find the stewards' report for the 2019 Austrian GP, but it's not on the FIA website for some reason. :? Best we're going to get I think Explaining the decision, the stewards said they “Car 33 [Verstappen] sought to overtake car 16 [Leclerc] at Turn 3 on lap 69 by out-braking car 16....

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

So in this incident (Leclerc/Verstappen in Austria 2019), had Leclerc simply turned into the corner and headed on a line that took him a car's width from the apex, Verstappen would have been entirely to blame for the inevitable resulting contact? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABKY6nbKIL4 I think ...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

So just asking the question here. Corner speed aside & keeping in mind that at one point Hamilton was virtually level with Verstappen, by how much does this incident differ from Verstappens pass on Leclerc in Austria in 2019? Verstappen was slightly behind going into the corner the same as Hamilton...

I've voted Hamilton at fault. Whilst he did get his car pretty much alongside Verstappen's on the approach to the corner he made contact due to a touch of understeer.
