Re: Factors of Ranking Verstappen
I struggle to even label Vaerstappen as a racing driver at all. You cannot race with him, it's crash or jump out of the way. He is an amazing hot lapper and a racing thug.

So here's a stat that just occurred to me. Lewis has now won and lost a championship on the final lap of the final race. I wouldn't imagine anybody else has done that.

Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Why didn't Lewis cover the inside line? He must've (or at least should've) known Max will make a lunge on the inside if he's anywhere remotely near. That's his thing. Had he forced Max to make a move on the outside he could've squeezed him off track and there's no way they would have let him keep t...

Re: Abu Dhabi 2021 - How has it left you feeling?
For me, it's left me considering whether I will bother next year. I'm really down about it. If Max had won through racing, or through some luck befalling Hamilton then I'd have accepted it - those things are part of racing. But ignoring rules on the fly in order to leave a 'grandstand finish' (whic...

Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Tissue sales must be through the roof. I see the supposed motorsport fans would rather the race finish under safety car instead of seeing actual racing. What we saw wasn't racing. Was a totally manufactured situation i thought they would throw a red flag. ham-max lined up 1-2 with 3-4 laps to race....

Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
What do Mercedes have in terms of options? I don't think I have ever been so angry about a sporting outcome, and genuinely believe that Massi deliberately handed MV the title by making up rules, but I do not want to see this drag on in the courts or for Hamilton to be awarded the title in a month o...

Read the rules, let all lapped cars through (not just the ones that happen to be in front of MV) and then safety car in next lap. Massi only let 4 lapped cars through and the safety car came in on the same lap.

48.12 of the sporting regs: Unless the clerk of the course considers the presence of the safety car is still necessary, once the last lapped car has passed the leader the safety car will return to the pits at the end of the following lap. So it should have been a safety car finish. There we go, cle...

This was lucky for verstappen, but people can't deny that it isn't normal to not let lapped drivers through. red bull raised that, and were successful with their complaint. this is a coincidence, but if people don't understand the reason for red flag, then they don't take safety seriously enough. This is very unlikely, but if the same incident occured again, the barrier would not do the same job. Also take note that the same red flag happened when Leclerc crashed in p...

So i have 2 questions for y'all 1) Most impressive thing about his race at Sakhir? 2) Will the "Russell Hussle" stick? On no 1 for me. It was the 2nd pass on Bottas. That was massive. I know Bottas was on less-than-their-best tyres, but Russells pass was quick and commited. I nearly cried. I just t...

When I was a kid I loved Whacky Races, then I grew up and fell in love with F1. I have no problem with the occasional mixed up race caused by natural conditions, but deliberately and artificially messing with races is a big NO.

Stewart has always played down Hamilton's acheivments, so nothing new here really. I get the feeling there is something personal in it. I've seen Stewart say a couple of times that Hamilton has never come to him for advice, and I think this has irked Stewart somewhat.
