Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Silverstone 2025

I felt Piastri was a little unlucky, but I also think it was penalty worthy. McLaren is a hard one to vote for as Piastri was dominating until the SC wiped out the advantage - I cant ignore that. But...... I think you probably have to give it to Norris, the SC error gifted him the race and Piastri g...

Re: The official NICO HULKENBERG Thread

Obviously no guarantees, but being based in Europe, with their history and track record - any VAG badged entry into engine manufacturing is holding as good of a hand as any new engine manufacturer could hope for. I would back them to be up to speed faster than a Honda/Toyota with far less risk of it...

Re: Driver(s) of the day - 2025 British Grand Prix

Stroll had the A+ stratagy yet finished just 5 seconds ahead of Alonso who was given one of the poorer strategies. Stroll finished 7th when he should have finished 3rd. True. He blew a golden opportunity by clumsy driving. Just look how he managed to lose two places in the final two laps. While I w...

Re: The official NICO HULKENBERG Thread

Hulkenbergs time has probably gone. He might get another season right enough. Happy to see him finally get a podium. His talent is better than his F1 CV suggests. Probably one of the best drivers to never to get a chance in one of the better seats in F1. He is unlucky that his peak marketability coi...

Hulkenberg, Alonso, Norris Being honest this time, What did Alonso really do today that was much better than Stroll? Not that I would vote either. Yes, he made his mediums last far longer than Stroll made his softs last, but that is sort of to be expected? I would say Stroll's first 2 stints were m...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

I'd like to have seen what Verstappen could have done with a higher downforce set up - then again... he'd likely not be on pole if he was running that. He clearly struggled with sliding in the wet relative to the McLarens, but..... the McLarens are in a class of their own in race pace, and can someh...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

I agree with 10s being too harsh, should have been 5secs with the mitigating factor being that the call to bring the SC in happened very late, and so Oscar went from being in a position where he needed to catch the SC up and suddenly needing to create a gap to release the SC with barely any time to...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

Piastri is a little unlucky today. He had a big lead wiped out with the SC, and whilst I think the penalty call is probably right, I can see why it happened from his perspective - he scrubbed too much speed though. I think 10s is definitely on the harsh side. Been a lot of chat about Russell doing s...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

I do have a bit of sympathy for piastri here, seemed like he was trying to catch back up with the SC then theee was a late call to bring the SC in so its lights went off and Piastri slowed as he was then in charge of creating a sufficient gap to the SC so it was out the way for the restart Not sure...

I don't think it looks spectacular to be honest. I am sure it will be very fast, maybe even fun to drive, but all these supercars look the same nowadays. Was there a time when they didn't? The only criticism I have of this year's WDC is that up until now..... its all been a bit too nice. That lack of needle does detract a bit as a neutral watching. 50-70% chance of rain during qualifying and 30-50% during the race. Silverstone never disappoints. Tbh Norris, Piastri, Russell, Leclerc and even an aging Hamilton are all pretty interchangeable (with Leclerc being the one I think may be the next best). As said in the race thread, it shows how bad Tsunodas weekend was, when his team mates race was over after 20 seconds.... and he is going to lose this vote convincingly.

Finishing last of the running cars isn't great. Verstappen would have lapped him at least once had he not been taken out.

I thought it was a light penalty for Colapinto.

It was a lack of spacial awareness not befitting of an F1 level driver - he nearly wiped out the WDC leader needlessly, presumably because he didn't know he was there.
