while in 2018 Verstappen scored 79 more but finished 4 more races (also note Baku incident). Also keep in mind that in addition to the retirements in 2018, Ricciardo also had grid penalties in: Australia - 3 places - failing to slow down for red flag Germany - 20 places - exceeding element quotas I...

Re: I really miss screaming V10s

When it comes to higher speed, the engines capability to do work (power) is what matters. Engine has to do work to push car through the air. Power is a function of torque versus engine speed. Flywheel BHP = torque (ft/lb) x Engine Speed (RPM) ÷ 5250 Bulldozer pushing 1000ft/lbs @ 2k rpm = 380bhp F1 ...

Re: 2020 Season - Driver Ratings

I always take driver ratings with a pinch of salt as the car influences them so much. Whilst ultimately the order isn't that different from how I'd rate them, you only get good mark's for a lesser team if you do something outstanding. A solid job is only ever a 6/10 in the lower midfield, wheres it'...

Tbh, I suspect Sainz is about the same (or near to) level as Ricciardo, but a suspicion that is still unproven. We know outside of Hamilton and Verstappen, Ricciardo is proven to be somewhere about the best in the grid. Operating close to the level the top guys are. I don't think McLaren are making ...

If the leader did what the guys back in the pack were doing, accelerating and braking..... he would get a penalty. Not sure what the rules say, but simply enforcing all drivers keeping a constant and predictable velocity prevents this happening again. You get rolling starts/restarts on ovals all the...

In terms of being the catalyst for so much change across motorsport - millions of pounds worth of track upgrades, redesigns of cars, etc - as well as the sport losing its biggest and most marketable star.

Imola 1994.

Belgium 98 is hard to beat though in terms of multi car pileups.

I reckon Hamilton is operating well within himself. Bottas is no challenge, on track or off it. He has another gear. Lewis has matured right enough, very confident in himself. I would like to see his cage rattled again to see how he does respond, but Bottas isn't going to do it. Max could, but Merce...

TBH. Whilst it is a stick on penalty, I think you do need to question how easy it was for a driver to realise the pit lane is closed. The marker boards, certainly at Monza, are not in the drivers eye so I can fully understand why they didn't notice them - and something for safety perhaps should be m...

Go through a red light at club level motorsport and you're looking at a DQ.

Ultimately the onus is on the driver to ensure the pit lane is open before he enters, and..... obviously it's so rarely closed that nobody ever does check this, but it doesn't change that fact.

It was an honest error.

Deserved the win and didn't get the free pit stop for track position that Gasly got.

However with the red car Sainz will surely get opportunities again. Gasly may never get it again.

I'm looking forward to seeing a run of tracks that haven't been used or not been used in a while. Teams starting with a limited prior knowledge of set ups can only be a good thing.
