Polyphony sure do love supporting their games, been out nearly two weeks and it's had around 2.5gb over 3 patches, two weighing in at 1.2gb +. I've been playing some GT5 ahead of buying GT6 to get myself in the mood :). Driving a maxed out NSX on a wet Nordschleife is the must fun I've probably ever had in the game! I dont think that's gonna be very useful because the physics are quite different, especially if you're using SRF. GT5+SRF is...

I asked a lecturer about why it doesn't stop, and the thing is is that it does. They just rewind it every now and then and let it swing again. There is a formula as to why it takes the same time for it to do an osscelation, T^2=4(pi)^2(L over g) where t is time, l is distance from fulcrum and g grav...

Well, they shouldn't need testing. After all, tyres are there to improve traction and durability, so I don't see how they would find any info on f1 cars to make them more durable...

250 is my budget as well!! A g27 goes for around 260 on Amazon IIRC. If you are starting out maybe you can get one of the fanatec wheels and get a normal potentiometer pedal and upgrade as you go on. Theres a new thrustmaster T100 out for 130€. It seems promising but I don't like the look of it, I ...

I'm looking to buy a steering wheel this christmas. I'm most interested in the thrust master Ferrari GT F430. It has a sort of cockpit that holds the wheel in place but doesn't have force feedback. Looks to be a big challenge to the drivers next year, new cars their don't have experience off, engines with apparently 4 times the current torque, less downforce. Should help the great drivers really stand out through car control. Id expect if they all have good cars to see a great battle between ...

Re: The greatest driver ever
This is easy - Schumi, even though I despised his dominance in the early 00's. He was a championship contender in 11 seasons in F1, loosing out on occasion only because his competition were in vastly superior cars, and he still won several races in those seasons. If you think Vettel's stats are oh ...

The reason Schumacher turned down the offer is because he did not want to become part of the equation: Alonso = Hamilton = Rosberg = Schumacher < Grosjean < Kimi ..... Kimi is the best! Well, they won't have a fourth podium ready for such an unusual event every round. So there'd be three on the podium, just a question of which driver gets silver or bronze.

If we're trying to make the championship last to the end, we could have double points for interlagos, having the race double length. That would mean problems with fuel, so maybe refeuling half way through the race?

Massa was mainly focussed on proving that he's better than alonso when he doesn't play 2nd fidel to alonso. I think it was kind of embarrassing at the end when alonso pulled away at the end with massa stuck in 8th.

I guess a lot of it comes down to your stance on the environment. Personally I'm quite mercenary about the environment. I'll do a nit to lower carbon emissions if it doesn't impact me too greatly. But I also think the case for man made global warming has been so hugely overplayed for so long that i...

We need to act big to stop global warming. F1 is pretty harmful compared to, say, calcutta, where they use gallons upon gallons in traffic jams. That's just in one city. Okay, I'm not going to get off on a tangent on global warming, but F1 doesn't have much of an affect on global warming, maybe trav...

The car is only truly dominant in Sebs hands. Mark, who is still quick, but not top tier, has to work to get podiums. because he is a terrible starter and always loses multiple positions and spends most races stuck in traffic. He's a lot older than seb, therefore has slower reaction rates. He has a...

For 2014 I hope Fred and Kimi are close-matched. What matters much more is how fast/competitive the new Ferrari will be compared to rival cars. If Ferrari is at the front, then it matters which driver is best, but only to the two drivers. And of course to their fans! Personally I long ago stopped r...

Well, if alonso beats kimi, then massa will look like a top class driver again, with confidence and no. 2 driver making him perform a few tenths worse off, he will be attracted by other teams. He will nearly be on par with kimi, which would seem odd since he's fighting for a place next season. I nev...

Re: Where did all the money go?
With the competitiveness of formula 1 these days, teams need to spend a lot in order to stay in the sport. Also, the new engines will cost a lot of money next year, and the new regulations mean that a lot od R and D is needed. As scuderia stevie said, travel expenses are pretty hefty.
