Re: Could DAS have caused the tyre failures

You'd expect a press release would be accurate in its statements. Stating that the tyres lasted around 40 laps is just misinformation. Bottas' tyres lasted like 32 laps when racing. The Press Release said, inter alia: "The second safety car period prompted nearly all the teams to anticipate their p...

No. Sainz's McLaren suffered the EXACT same fate in the exact same way and they don't have DAS on their car. Looking at the footage closely, this is similar to how the world trade towers collapsed. Heat eventually weakened the structural makeup of the tire until it de-laminated and imploded. Nothin...

So many appallingly ill-informed views here. Blake - above - is correct. Enzo Ferrari is on record as saying that Nuvolari and Moss were the best he'd seen. So did Brooks. So did Ginther. Moss's peers conceded that he was their clear leader, at least from 1957 to the point - during 1961 - when Clark...

Who approves the team's racing budget and are the actual bosses? The Mercedes Board of Directors. What do they want? Ideally a 1-2 every race, a manufacturer's title at end of the year, and lastly, a WDC. With Hamilton and Bottas as drivers and Wolff running the racing operations, those goals are a...
