Re: Thoughts on the Monaco 3 Tyres/2 Stops change
It quickly became redundant. I'm almost in favor of scrapping the race and replacing it with some type of time trial to bring back a similar type of excitement as qualifying in the refueling era.

Wow. That is an impressive statistic. Piastri once he's won here today, he will have more wins than Norris! Norris destroyed him for 2 years and then they actually get a dominant car and he falls behind him. Although this weekend Norris looked more like his 2024 self (pace wise), he may have turned...

Looks like a fun track to drive on, but not necessarily good to race on. Other than the straights the last S's could be where some retakes occur.

It's good to see Tsunoda and Sainz getting comfortable in their cars. Hamilton had one good lap and I think he'd have better luck if he'd adjust his style to the car rather than try to make the car suit him.

Re: The Official Liam Lawson Thread
They did something to this 25 car for Liam to do this poorly. He tested well in the old car, as did Yuki. I wonder if since they couldn't build a fast enough car they decided to build one tailored to Max in hopes he could pull out a miracle. So anyone in the 2nd seat is doomed. If I were Yuki I'd be...

Re: The Official Liam Lawson Thread
His first race was disappointing to say the least. Bad qualifying, then he couldn't even pass anyone. If that was Perez he would have at least destroyed the back field. So what now? Is this his true pace or does he need more time and a dry track? If he doesn't improve, how soon will Tsunoda replace ...

One thing that I thought McLaren got wrong was the call to reign in Piastri, and I think Piastri responded pretty badly to that. Angry behind the wheel and the mistakes started creeping in straight away. I really have no problems with team orders and with designating number one drivers, but McLaren...

Both should've gotten a penalty. Norris for passing off the track (he hadn't completed the pass yet) and not giving it back, and one for Max for forcing a driver off the track. This would have left Lando in 3rd, put Max in 5th place and promoted Piastri to 4th. Props for Fernando Alonso for generous...

Probably Kubica, Barrichello or Montoya I think he's probably the best driver to never have driven a car that challenged for the championship. I’m sorry but I cannot see how Montoya or Barrichello can be rated above Ricciardo. I guess Kubica maybe but we didn’t see enough of him. Montoya was defini...

Re: Red Bull RB20 vs McLaren MCL38
Baku weekend goes to Mclaren? Baku weekend goes to Red Bull? Anybody bold enough to answer. Perez 0.140 off Piastri in qualifying and would have overtaken him and probably beat him if Norris did not hold him up by 2 seconds (emerged just 0.7 behind Piastri). However, Piastri did win a close fight t...

I voted removal of device. When they were dominating last year, it was interesting that RB said they were surprised that the other manufacturers "hadn't figured it out" which insinuates they had found a trick or loophole to exploit. Later they claimed those words to have meant it as they were surpri...

Re: Should McLaren have swapped Piastri/Norris?
No, if Norris wants to be a deserving WDC, he needs to earn it on merit. He can't expect the team to bail him out when he keeps losing lap 1. Norris is going for a title against a driver Verstappen who has his team fully behind him but Norris himself should expect no help from his team, sounds more...

62 points is a huge lead to cover. In '21 only 5 points separated Max against Lewis with 8 races to go. Lando has to avg a 7-8pt gap over Max for the remaining races and sprints. If RB are strong at Abu Dhabi and Azerbaijan like last year, and maybe Mexico, it will be impossible for them to lose the...

It is being reported that Perez survives the axe. In the absence of somewhere else to discuss it, how have Red Bull not signed Sainz for 2025? Well, he could have done what Sainz did to get a win, but then he might be out of a job next year like Sainz. McLaren was very insistent on Norris giving the place back. It sounded like there would be hell to pay if he didn't do it. I took it to mean if he ever was in a championship fight, the team ...

If autosport correctly report that the floor damage cost Verstappen a full second in qualifying, then he should cruise to an easy win tomorrow. Absolute incredible lap for Verstappen in Q3 if so.
