This gets my vote for topic of the year. Great episodes F1 Livery Histories .  Thanks mate. I personally enjoyed covering Minardi, and am kinda glad Red Bull didn't retain the Minardi name when they took over the team. Would have been sad to see Minardi become a Red Bull feeder t...

Ditto. Those pinstripes are absolutely bad-ass. There something about it, along with the digital-looking driver numbers that gives the car a whole 80's postmodern look.jiminwatford wrote:I think possibly 1985 with the white stripes on the front and rear wings

Re: F1 Livery Histories
I've kinda always thought of F1 eras like this... 1983(or even earlier) to 1988 - Turbo era. 1989 to 1993 - Return to naturally aspirated engines. 1994 to 1997 - Post-ban on traction control & active suspension. There were, however, lots of other regulation changes during this period. It was also du...

Interesting comparison. When looking at them both side by side like that the Williams looks much more balanced, & able to attack the corners better. I could imagine Mansell's front tyres would have been under a fair amount of pressure though!
