Of course, Vietnam -- as a communist country -- can always pull a page from the Fidel Castro playbook, nationalising all the proceeds from the race. Chase Carey would be apoplectic at that. According to the World Bank, Vietnam's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ranks #44 among nations, one rank below Bangladesh, and just 4 spots ahead of bankrupt Greece 8O If Vietnam were to double it's economy, it would still rank behind Thailand (#26). Re: Vietnam GP confirmed for 2020
The Motorhome park there is 4-times larger than the speedway itself. and larger than some English towns. It has 60,000 unmarked free parking spots around the track, as well as an additional 20,000 paved ones, reserved for motorhomes. (Drive a car there, and you pay $25 to park out back.) The 45,000...

Re: F1 Mgmt wants a second race in China?
Just because a country is big enough doesn't mean it should have multiple races. At one time, the US hosted 3 GPs in a year, and I don't think it ended well. The city circuits in the Las Vegas parking lot, and here in Dallas were abysmal failures. Last I read, a street race in New York City area was...

F1 Mgmt wants a second race in China?
ESPN reports that the F1 Overlords want a second race in China, a street race. http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/265 ... race-china
When the sport was a European game, a couple countries were permitted a second race. Is it now time to return to that practice?

Same here, a full 2 hours before qualificaiton, and I can't edit predictions, either.
Actually, I can't even see my predictions from Weds. All I can see are my predictions from Australia, mis-labeled as Bahrain.
What a shambles.

I watched about 15 minutes of this, then changed channels. The only interesting (humorous) part was the cars running 10 car lengths wide exiting turn 19. Nonsensical... Indycars are so SLOW at COTA. I thought maybe 6 seconds slower than F1. Then I found this side-by-side comparison and was shocked.....

Re: 2019 Motorsport GP Predictor
I don't understand the points structure this year. Last year I would have gotten 5 pts each for predicting the two Mercedes as 1-2, but mixed order (HAM 5 BOT 5), 10 pts for predicting Verstappen taking 3rd, 10 pts for Vettel finishing 4th, 10pts for Leclerc correctly taking 5th, 2pts for Gasly taki...

I agree the first chicane is the only eyesore on the circuit. There appears to be plenty of space to turn it into some "esses" instead.
