Re: Alonso joins Aston Martin for 2023 [merged]

Alpine going into 2023 with the midfielderiest midfielder that ever midfielded aka Esteban Ocon as team leader and a rookie in the second car looks a pitifully lightweight driver lineup on paper. I hope for their sake that Piastri is the next big thing because they could be in a world of trouble if ...

Yeah, it is much better to start from row 4 or 5 in Budapest than from pole position. Oh, wait ... That's just a typically ignorant and immature comment from you, completely missing the point in order to try and get a little internet win with a strawman that I had already accounted for with the cav...

Re: Russell's race pace

In Hungary Russell was fighting for the win so his strategy was dictated by the cars around him and the battles he was in. Hamilton was excellent but also got to drive the absolutely ideal strategy and got a fair amount of clean air. So I don't think losing out to Lewis was an embarrassment by any ...

Re: Alonso joins Aston Martin for 2023 [merged]

Absolutely terrible decision from alonso. I dont even feel bad for him anymore. Too many bad career choices to count. Better to be out of the sport than to be at AM imo. What a joke. It doesn't seem like a recipe for success. I would say though that given the top 3 teams are out of the equation for...

I've gone for 11 as I feel like Ferrari will be better in the second half of the season. Not nearly enough to overhaul the gap but enough to win a lot of the last races.

Re: The Effect of 2021 on Max Verstappen's Legacy

Why am I not surprised that no one is talking about Max's incredible win today, and instead we're somehow still whacking the few remaining bits of the dead horse known as 2021? Probably because of how controversial Max's win was and the fact it was Red Bulls strategist and Ferrari's strategist the ...

Hamilton did way more battling than Russell. Russell ran the fist 40 laps in clean air. He defended Leclerc for 4 laps of those laps before being overtaken. Carlos Sainz had DRS on Russell for 2 laps only. He did not run in dirty air as you say. Russell ran the optimum strategy, the exact strategy ...

Re: Is Leclerc dropping the ball?

I think the answer is no. Driver61 did a breakdown off all Leclerc's errors and showed he has made the same number of errors Hamilton made last year and fewer errors than Verstappen made last year. The difference was that Hamilton and Max largely got away with their errors through luck and they nev...

Ferrari's inability to deliver on it's enormous potential this season is best summed up by fact that after 13 races this season, Leclerc is only 86 points up on his tally after the same amount of races last season. This sounds like a lot but considering how bad Ferrari we're last year and that Verst...

The assumption seemed to be that Alonso would get a new Alpine contract and Piastri would go to Williams. This turn of events could offer Latifi a stay of execution or open the door for Logan Sargeant or NDV.

Aston are giving Alonso a 'multi year deal' (two I'd have thought) whereas Alpine would only commit to a one year deal for him.

It shows Alonso is still fired up and committed to the sport. The team clearly felt they needed a big name and Alonso is still amongst the very quickest for my money.
