Re: Could Red Bull have been faster than Mercedes since Turkey?
I think the fact that Albon was able to get onto the back of Hamilton suggests that the Red Bull was the quickest car in Abu Dhabi. The Merc lads were complaining of the car being unresponsive in certain corners losing time to the typically oversteery Red Bull.

Re: 3rd in WCC will go to?
There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that a Perez/Hulkenberg team all season for Racing Point would have seen then comfortably third in the WCC. Over an entire season, Stroll jnr just isn't going to deliver consistently week in, week out. The truly worrying thing is that he got weaker as the seaso...

Re: 3rd in WCC will go to?
Really, Racing Point should have wrapped this third place up by now, and credit has to go to McLaren for keeping it interesting. If McLaren do pinch third, than RP will have to reflect on the fact that since he stood on the podium at Monza, Stroll has amassed 17 points to Perez's 91 (yes 91. That's ...

Re: Why haven't Red Bull signed Perez?
This makes no sense to me. Red Bull desperately tried to keep Ricciardo before he went to Renault. If they were all about protecting Vertsappen then that makes no sense. Red Bull have shown themselves the only major team to not be afraid of putting two top drivers together. And if Perez does beat h...

Re: Nikita Mazepin social media video incident
There is a question of whether we really want dodgy Russia based oligarchs getting a foothold into F1, and this may happen as the Mazepin family increase their influence at Haas. Obviously Nikita isn't his father, but they do come as a package in a similar way to Lance and Lawrence. I think F1 team ...

Re: How will Russell perform against Bottas?
An overlooked aspect of this is the fact that Russell isn't an ideal fit for that Merc chassis as it is, and can't apply full brake pressure. Yas Marina is has some far more technical sections than outer layout at Sakhir and that would surely make it difficult for George to be competitive. The fact ...

But from a certain point of view, he got an opportunity that he didn't think would come this year, and proved a lot about himself. It sounds patronising, but in many ways that's more important than a race win. He's dramatically improved his negotiating position.

Mazepin is a much smaller problem to society than Cancel Culture And this particular case shines a light on that really. People are trying to weaponize cancel culture against Mazepin here. If the woman's explanation is true, then it's a bit embarrassing but not unforgivable. With Mazepin, his reputation precedes him somewhat due to a litany of controversies and numerous examples of him not using his brain before posting/speaking.

Ricciardo sounded very unimpressed with Mazepin's erm 'robust' defence. If a driver is coming to F1 without the pace to succeed, that's a problem that gets resolved quickly and painlessly. If a driver comes into F1 with no regards for proper driving standards and safety, then that's a bigger problem...

I've gone for Russell, Perez and Sainz. Sainz because he drove such a strong race and was really quite unfortunate with his VSC stop. It was a toss up between him and Ocon for that third vote. It was certainly very encouraging for Russell. I think Bottas would have closed up to him by the end of the race, but overtaking might have been a different story.
