Do we really need these visor tear-off strips…? Seems to be a very dodgy way of disposing of them, given how these cars suck up every bit of air they can.
If I was racing, I would make damn sure that I waited until there was somebody right behind me before releasing one into its path.

Re: 2023 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
Abu Dhabi 21 and Singapore and Suzuka 22 very strong competition. This one probably gets top marks for artistic impression. Indeed, those races were insane by the standards of the F1 we used to knowledge and love, but very tame for what is clearly the new norm since the start of 2021 That being sai...

The FIA caused all this by trying to manufacture drama at the end.
This would never have happened under Charlie’s watch.
F1 is dying. And Netflix is the only one benefitting.

Looked like Max was trying to end the championship on the first lap, by taking out Lewis. If Max had been on the outside and Lewis tried that it would have been a massive accident.

Re: Verstappen's driving in Saudi GP (split from Official Max Verstappen thread)
Max knew exactly what he was doing, he was told to give the place back in a strategic way. This obviously means utilising the DRS zones to immediately retake, which is not giving the place back correctly. I suspect Lewis knew what was happening, and didn’t want to fall for Max’s tactics, but probabl...

Re: One of these days a pair of title rivals will kill one another
There have always been fierce rivalry’s in F1, and for me they improve the sport. To say they are deliberately trying to kill each other is a bit OTT. It’s certainly the case that Lewis and Max will not back down an inch, particularly when it’s against each other, although Max drives like that again...

Definitely Norris for me, that last lap was incredible.
Surprised to see all the praise for Leclerc, he was average for the whole race and only ended up where he was because of other cars going out.

I think the Mercedes was probably quicker per lap, but the straight line speed of that Ferrari made them tricky to pass.
I though Leclerc was superb today, under massive pressure for most of the race, and he barely put a foot wrong.

The last 3 deaths have all been at that point of the circuit, so you can be sure there will be a thorough investigation. It was a very unfortunate accident, although the way that car split apart was something we don’t often see these days. Not sure what they can do to change that area of the circuit...
