Re: Simulators
I agree building a test track is a strong way to go! M.Nader- I can see your point but respectfully disagree with sims for F1 taking control. It really is about costs. I can tell you that the aero company I am working with spends about 80-90 million per year keeping just 1 sim running. that its an a...

I wasn't sure where this should go not sure I want this to end we are having an interesting discussion regarding testing. the comments have been really interesting and some of the points made are great. I guess the discussion can take it more technical or less.

Re: Montezemolo- and Simulators/Track testing
I agree with your points above! look at Williams they have a huge technology group based in the middle east that developed a special fly wheel for a KERS system that is now in the new Porsche super car. Mclaren is building technology for bicycles. F1 technology is used in many different applications...

Re: Montezemolo- and Simulators/Track testing
I agree however simulators are not the track and as you have mentioned in earlier posts even with a fractional percentage off in a simulator makes that simulator need a recalibration or updates to software, hardware etc which costs serious money. if it was attesting scenario costs would be there how...

There are many things that transferred over to road cars, ceramic brakes, KERS, paddle shifters, sequential transmission as example all F1 by products to go into road cars. None of the things you listed have translated to "road" cars - road cars being every day cars, not supercars. Also, none of th...

good points, I am just trying to make a point that road cars/F1 cars have viability into the sport. Testing can advance this even more. The way it is now innovation will have to come from road cars not F1 because there is no testing of ideas, all ideas come on a computer and then put into a wind tun...

this is cool, I think the NFL should have a team based in London. it takes about the same time for you to fly from Miami to Seattle than it does Miami to London give or take an hour. Mercedes Tire and results since the private test
Since the private illegal test. They have won 2 GP and finished 2 cars in top 10 Canada. They get no real penalty...I think this is the real crime. They cheated...they admit they cheated and they win 2 GP's. Something smells here...also they are granted to supply 4 teams with engines next year. FIA ...

i think MB may have a chance to get out of this mess. The sporting regulations state that the teams can not "undertake a test" MB lawyers will argue that they did not undertake the test Pirelli did. we do know that this was a Pirelli test so therefore they undertook the test....appears to me a legal...

Luca Codero di Montezemolo. That would be a massive, massive mistake. In season testing (and likely unlimited testing would resume), meaning Ferrari can use their private track 24/7 again, and we all know what happened when they were able to do that last time. so that is so bad? Mclaren built milli...
