Re: Unbelievable scenes in FIA karting final.

Jebus. I think Massa presides over karting in some way - not sure this will impress him. And Corberi's dad charging in like that at full sprint to smack the other kid into the wall is just nuts.

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

Shameful, classless decision. Perez stuck with that team through some tough times and has done a superb job for them year after year. And how do they repay him? Given that he had a contract for next year, he's effectively been fired so they can hire a driver who's grossly underperformed for the pas...

Re: Would you swap Perez for Vettel?

I like his personality and he's fun in the press conferences but Ricciardo and Leclerc have shown up Vettel for how good a driver he really is. I certainly would not swap him for Perez, who I rate much higher. Vettel is a four time world champion because he was basically in the fastest car and just ...

Re: Williams

I'm a big Claire Williams fan and I've desperately hoped for the team to make the changes that they need to do in order to be competitive but, much as I'd love her to stay on, I think Claire Williams needs to go as she's too stuck in the past with regards to what an F1 team is. I've seen numerous in...

It would be meaningless and not representative of anything much... but I'd still quite like to see them all do quali & the full race in a sim. Re: Drive To Survive season 2

I watched it over the weekend and, much like the first season, I thought it provided a great insight. I was already impressed by how he handled himself last year, but my admiration for Gasly increased greatly, after watching it. Albon came across well too - I had no idea about his family background ...

Re: R. I. P. Anthoine Hubert.....

RIP Hubert - It's incredibly sad to lose anyone at such a young age. I guess we are very lucky that, thanks to improvements in safety, such incidents are much rarer these days. I really rated Hubert and have enjoyed watching his overtakes and racing through the field this year. Can't imagine how Gas...

Re: Should Bottas contract be extended?

He comes across as a nice guy and I was a fan of Bottas when he was at Williams. I thought he did ok there and was happy to see him get a chance to race in a car capable of winning a title. But the gap between him & Lewis is what bothers me more. Bottas just hasn't seemed capable of consistently put...

Re: Albon in, Gasly out

He had to go, he was simply too slow. It will be interesting now to see the new comparisons. Kyvat could be in the Red Bull next season if he looks very strong against Gasly. Albon is harder to judge, being dropped in mid season against a driver like Verstappen is as tough as it gets. If Albon can ...

Re: FORMULA E: Season 5 [Everything's new!]

The last two races have been very exciting. I'd forgotten what it was like to have two cars at the front of a race genuinely competing for more than just 2 and a half laps before the car behind had to give up due to aero / tyres. At first I wasn't convinced and I found the lack of engine noise off p...

It would definitely be better with similar input from Mercedes and Ferrari, but i’ve watched four episodes so far and have really enjoyed it. Yep, they don't make it easy to keep the faith. I'm sad to see Paddy go, I hoped he'd be able to turn things around. The only positive I see recently is Rob Smedley leaving. Oh well, let's hope there's better news when the cars finally hit the track in Melbourne.

Re: Arrivederci Arrivabene

Arrivabene never struck me as the kind of guy who would inspire others to produce their very best, although I can easily picture him putting the fear of god into his under-performing underlings. Ferrari are now going to try putting an engineer in charge of their race team, rather than a sinister loo...

Belgium 2013 Awesome venue, bit if a dull race as Red Bull were utterly dominant. And it was the last yr of V8 noise. We had General Admission tickets and sat at the end of the Kemmel Straight so saw loads of action & overtaking. Traffic was a bit chaotic getting in & out, but not too bad. Hungary 2...

Leclerc is something of an unknown quantity under pressure, but I’m expecting Vettel to crumble, just like he did against Ricciardo. Re: [Merged] F2 races Wow.... you should be watching

F2 has been exciting and competitive so far this year. I’ll be interested to see if Norris getting the nod at McLaren helps or hinders his racing throughout the rest of the season. In some ways, the pressure is slightly off him now and his drive next year is not dependent on his upcoming F2 results....

I am really hoping that Vandoorne is out. Alonso is good, but come on. By now there should have been some hint that Vandoorne is capable of at least matching his teammate. Every dog has its day but Vandoorne doesn't look like he's even had half an hour where he might outshine Alonso. And as well as ...

I hope it will be a good move for Ricciardo. I think I read that it’s a two year deal he signed, and I just feel that Renault have a greater chance of being competitive over those two years than Honda have of finally have of getting their stuff together to propel Red Bull to the top. Looking at my track record, I tend to support good drivers and poor teams. I’ve seen a few more mentions of Miami today but I just cannot believe that proposed track they showed could ever get signed off. It would be nice to have overtaking on the track in a F1 race - it is supposed to be the pinnacle of Motor Racing. Agreed. It was just so incredibly boring to watch. I’d call my team Rebel Racing F1. Partly because rebels are cool but mainly because it sounds just enough like Red Bull Racing to really wind up Christian Horner & Helmut Marko, and I think it would take a long time before I didn’t find that amusing.

Re: Race start times possibly changing

I like the change as getting in your seat for the start of FP1 at a number of circuits can be a pain, and I’d welcome the extra hour delay. That would be particularly welcome at more badly organised tracks like Monza. As for the races starting at 10 past the hour, that seems to be almost purely for ...
