Apparently the track has been resurfaced and so is less bumpy now, should be worth a second or more according to Autosport. Bit disappointed Red Bull changed their livery back so soon, I thought the whole point of the special camo one was to be a testing livery, seems like a waste to go to all that...

True, but in this particular thread we could be talking about Alonso's chances in WEC, or whether he might finally have a half decent car at McLaren, not whether he was faster than Hamilton, fuel adjusted, 11 years ago.

Does the US Grand Prix clash with any F2 events? If Alonso isn't in the running for the F1 title I could see him going to Fuji if he's going well in WEC with Norris making a debut for McLaren. It's a shame it's come to this. Williams over the last 20 years have been great at promoting young talent into the sport based purely on merit. Villeneuve, Button, Montoya, Rosberg, Hulkenburg and Bottas all got their start at Williams in that time. You could arguably put Maldonado in that category,...
