Re: The inevitable question...
I do not think that comparing drivers to their team mates even if they are driving the same car will return a definite result as to who is better than who. Much less if said driver is only dedicated to F1, you will have to measure them when handling different type of race cars, which in a way is th...

BIB: and that conversation will be driven entirely by how you already view Vettel. Nothing that happens this year between the Ferrari team mates will change that. So if you're already predisposed to rate Vettel low, then if he beats Leclerc, it will be because Leclerc isn't really that good, while ...

Re: The inevitable question...
Well, we would learn that somebody else probably could get more out of the 2017 and 2018 Ferrari's. Where as far as we know, nobody could have got more out of the 2017 and 2018 Mercedes. However you want to cook it up, that weakens Vettels performance in 2017 and 2018 and you could make an argument...

Re: 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
I'm truly gutted for Leclerc. He has proven a hell.of a lot this weekend and that Ferrari is very capable of winning the title. For Vettel and Ferrari there were shades of 2018 there. Seb threw away potentially crucial points with the kind of error he just never seemed to make when he raced for Red...

This is Hamilton being silly. Another win won't matter in the larger scheme of things. A DNF may blow this wide open. Terrific from Max though, that was world-class defending. Re: Could Michael Schumacher have won in the 2018 car?
It's amazing how fuzz people's memories can be. Hamilton CLEARLY out-performed Vettel last season. This year has been even more clear but to say Vettel matched Hamilton's performance last season is inaccurate. And still "people" voted Vettel as the most "driver off the day" in 2017, so perhaps he d...

Re: [Merged] Mercedes v Ferrari v Red Bull - 2018 edition
Over the season Merc will likely edge Ferrari out but this don't cover Vettels mistakes however much you would like it too. Ferrari was the car to have before Singapore, even in Monza they got a front row and should have won the race. Again Vettel made a mistake and if they lead the first lap 1-2 t...

What a championship that would have been to watch. Could have been one of the greatest battles. As you stated would have Fer...

Re: Would Hamilton in the Ferrari have beat Hamilton in the
A bit harsh to compare possibly Hamiltons best season to maybe Vettels worst. I think if Vettel had met expectation and his own standard then the gap would be very small at the moment. Germany alone would halve the gap. From Singapore 2017 to now, approx 25 races has been a disaster for Vettel. He ...

Is it really worth damaging your relationship with one of your drivers and the very chemistry of the team (which has been very harmonious these last two seasons) in order to add...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
Aren't people used to team orders by now? It always happened at the top teams and probably will continue happening. There are 5 races to go and they(Merc) need to make sure their driver will be WDC. I'm sorry about Bottas but what does he expect? He's in a top team next to a 4th time world champion...
