I am not a Hamilton fan at all but a time penalty would have been stupid.
He broke some rules but didnt get an advantage. Slap some points on his license and fine the team, but altering the race results when he did nothing to gain an advantage would be wrong

Re: 2021 engine.
I would like to see no engine design restrictions whatsoever but only a restriction on the amount of torque and max rpm say 18,000rpm and 450Nm torque. Then you max out at around 850kW. Then all engines will give similar power, but the cars and engines will be very different.

Re: 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Thread
Ive mentioned in the other threads. Vettel should have been disqualified. A 10 place grid penalty in austria and more than the 3 penalty points awarded too him. Im 50/50 on if he should be banned for austria in any case. I have forwarded your request to the FIA. They are just awaiting your final th...

Re: 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
I wonder how long Hamilton's tires will last. His pace is currently quite good. If he can keep it up and not stop again he will have a chance

Re: Nico Rosberg - 2016 World Champion
Congrats Nico! This year you are undisputably the best at scoring the most points in the WDC with the car you are given by your team to drive. Coincidently, that is also how they determine who is the world champ! Congrats again!

Re: Potential disciplinary action against Hamilton by Merced
All Mercedes should do is in the next race where Hamilton is in front of Rosberg they should pit Rosberg first so that he can undercut Hamilton. That would be a nice reward for Rosberg for obeying orders and punishment enough for Hamilton for not. But seriously, I am more intersted in how Rosberg is...

Re: Red Bull not allowed to fix Verstappen's clutch at Singa
Isn't it possible that one clutch can give super fast changes but is a bit to grippy for a good start. And then another clutch made from a slightly different compound gives better starts but slower shift. RBR could have run the one clutch for qualifying where starts don't matter and then tried to c...

I voted Vettel and Kvyat. Loved the Verstappen vs Kvyat battle and Vettel made up a lot of ground to finish where he did.

Re: Drivers coping with faster 2017 cars
The change in the mid 90's from a 3.5l to a 3l engine, was that done to try and curb the ever increasing speeds or was there another reason?
If the 2017 tires has less degrading and a wider operting window, then hopefully the race pace will be closer to qualifying pace.

Drivers coping with faster 2017 cars
With the wider tires and more downforce lap times could drop by 4seconds. Will all drivers be able to cope with the faster cars. It would mean the race pace would be around the same lap times as this years qualifying. And the wualifying should be blisteringly quick. I know Alonso has been very vocal...

Re: 2016 Belgium Grand Prix Race Thread
I like most of the aggressive driving from Max. It makes for exiting racing. The only thing I would have liked differently is that Kimi shouldn't have given the position back. If you get pushed off the track, and the driver you passed is also off the track, I see no reason why you should give that p...
