So Verstappen letting Sainz through and then instantly retaking.
That’s now considered OK? Now need to wait until another corner has passed?

Re: BBC: Tim Goss removed from chief technical role at Maca
So, Tim Goss was the one who got tiddled up and mouthy on the flight back from Oz then? You come forward with that like everyone knows, please tell more. :) Was a snippet at the end of one of Joe Sawards notebooks after the Albert Park race. Not conclusive, obviously. I also have a rhetorical quest...

Re: F1 Agrees Cheaper & Noisier Engines from 2021
I'm assuming that was an April Fools joke as none of the other major publications have posted it. Because checking FIA.com ( story mentions an FIA press release ) or even reading the link to the FIA website posted 3 hours before your comment, is too much hard work, right? Unless of course the FIA h...

Hoping for a Hamilton win, and with Rosberg perhaps thinking of protecting his points lead it should be interesting
But as Hamiltons thrown his toys out of the pram with regards to the press you have to wonder if the pressure is getting to him.

Vettel's got the best sense of humour but Kimi is probably the funniest.
His exchange with Brundle years ago literally had me in tears : (summarised)
"Kimi, you missed the presentation"
"Yeah, I was having a sh*t"

Always going to be a penalty - Rosberg just isn't subtle enough. Good to see him getting his elbows out but he needs to not so obviously ignore the corner

Re: 2016 European (Baku) Grand Prix Race Thread
So, Lauda says both drivers had the same problem and they both guessed at the solution but Nico made the right guess and Lewis made the wrong guess. Lewis says it fixed itself. If they've explicitly stated that the problems were exactly and precisely the same, then it's yet another area that Rosber...

Re: 2016 European (Baku) Grand Prix Race Thread
I'm guessing Vettel would know what the settings on his car do. Maybe, but if you don't know what the problem is, it's tough to know what the fix is. Toto being rather evasive on the issue of what the problem was. He says ROS had the issue a few laps later, but because he had already changed a sett...

Re: 2016 European (Baku) Grand Prix Race Thread
Interesting that Lauda says both cars had the same issue and Rosberg sorted it quicker. Hope they'll say what it is - doesn't seem to fit in with the fact the Sky commentators seemed to thing Hamilton's issue had returned, which would suggest it wasn't just a 'wrong setting'

Re: Rosberg Vs Hamilton Spanish gp crash. The debate
Lauda's comments on Sky where he apportioned blame on Hamilton (and the reasons behind it) were beyond ludicrous. He's had a thing against Hamilton from day 1. If he can't treat the two drivers equally, rather than constantly defending his buddy Keke's blue eyed boy, he should keep his trap shut I ...

Re: Official 2016 Spanish Grand Prix Race Thread
Sainz pushed Kimi off the track. I completely disagree with Lauda as well. Lewis was alongside so Nico had to leave a cars width. Yes, Nico pulled across off the racing line quite aggressively. Having said that, the move from Hamilton looked optimistic in "real time" as I was watching it. Still, dr...

Fair enough, many posters have said that Lewis had to go off track to avoid the collision and then gave back the places gained. But as the race footage didn't show this, I'd like to see video. Its not only Lewis, I'd also like to see video of how Alonso gained so many places. The footage on Sky did...

yes, and I believe BMW are the largest privately owned motor company in the world, and they're not in F1, either. Kind of ironic for a brand that markets itself as the sporty choice among premium automobiles. I agree, to a point. But it's more about changing the perception of your brand. BMW are al...

IF Hamilton takes the championship this year I would not be surprised to see him leave for McLaren. He's made no secret of his desire to return there one day, and when better after he's won with two different teams and he's got the chance to emulate his hero Senna in a McLaren Honda?

If you're asking what is Hamilton referring to: 2011 he tried to pass Button on the pit straight, Button didn't see him as he moved across to line up the first corner, contact, Hamilton retires with damage. 2010, just some hard racing from both after being told to turn engines down for a comfortabl...

The endpoints of the two 'prongs' don't appear to be aligned. If one is 51mm longer than the other, then they are legal? It must have a single external cross section, in horizontal projection, of more than 9000mm2 at a point 50mm behind its forward-most point. Though you could argue that as long as ...

Why is it wrong to say it, Migen ? As far as I can see if a driver makes a 'PR style' empty statement, they get slated for being machines, bland, no personality, etc, etc. If they say something they believe, they then get slated for daring to have an opinion. No win situation. This happens to all th...

Going back many, many, years but I believe that lean-angle is a function of the radius of the bend and the speed you take it at. So the angle on that corner being 1 radian is pure coincidence. Thinking from experience, if you were to go round a gentle bend at low speed you'd have hardly any lean at ...
