Re: The best performing drivers of each season in the 2010s
Maybe Kubica had a really good car and a weak teammate in 2010? Same goes for Hulkenberg in 2013 for example. But of course, if you are a fan, you are not going to entertain that line of thought. Kubica was certainly a very good driver 2008-2010. Don't forget he stood toe to toe with top drivers in...

Re: Who wouldn't have won the title in the 2019 Mercedes?
Bottas is a bit overrated nowadays as a consequence of Hamilton hype, so yeah, probably a lot of guys would have been able to match his level of performance.

Re: Will Bottas Bounce Back in 2019??
The gap between Vettel and Kimi this year is consistent with the 4 year between the two drivers , like you say the gap is similar to what we see between Verstappen and Ricciardo, however we are not comparing like for like to come to the conclusion that Kimi was as good as Ricciardo, we are talking ...

What about 2016?. You are so fixed on putting these insurmountable (and precisely determined) gaps between certain drivers.

Re: Will Bottas Bounce Back in 2019??
Kimi had a "good season" relative to some of the poor ones he has had recently like 2014,2015 and 2017... if you are judging him against the best, Kimi had a poor season. But the bar for Kimi now is much lower and relative to the level he has been at the last few seasons - he had a good year. But V...

Re: Will Bottas Bounce Back in 2019??
Pointing out that Valteri finished behind Kimi due to team orders is not simplistic i guess? I agree that Valteri gets bashed a bit too much, but the usual strategy of not giving Kimi any credit doesn't help Valteri much IMO. In this case Kimi is getting credit and Bottas no credit. So you were try...

Kimi had two more DNFs, thats at least some 20 points lost. Kimi may have had 2 more DNFs, but he has benifited from others misfortune quite lot earlier on in the season while Bottas hasn't really over the whole season. Kimi has basically got back a good deal of the points lost with good luck. Baku...

Re: Will Bottas Bounce Back in 2019??
Still think he could well have a better season than his first year with Mercedes. And in that year despite having the teams only retirement, he was closer to Hamilton points wise than Rosberg was in 2014 or 2015. I know Rosberg may have had worse luck, but the fact other teams were so close to Merc...

Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?
I voted stay. But he does need more support than Ferrari is willing to give their number 2s - provided that is, they know they even have another driver besides the chosen one. According to Räikkönen himself, it was too difficult to get close to the driver in front in Canada. I do wish I knew why Rä...

Re: Mercedes v Ferrari v Red Bull - 2018 edition
Would a driver suggest he is struggling when he is getting 3 poles on the bounce and it should have been 3 front rows. Vettel seems quite happy at the moment even with all the bad luck and many suggest that's because he knows he has the fastest car. For all we know Vettel might not be getting the m...

Well you are certainly honest about it, however it looks more or less like going full circle with nothing new produced, performance ratings based predominantly on driver hierarchy (car performance is same thing really), ultimately reflecting not much more then that hierarchy.

Re: 2017 Qualifying Performance Ratings for Merc/Ferrari/RB
Highly subjective, with more then "some" assumptions. The fact that you gave individual ratings for each race and then analyzed the data statistically doesn't hide the fact that it is more statement of opinion, then any sort of attempt of in depth performance analysis.

Re: Planet F1 Team-mate wars: Can someone explain Vet-Kimi?
I see it as a bit of a "chocolate fudge cake you" to all those insisting Vettel doesn't have preferential treatment. Of course Kimi isn't exactly matching Vettel most of the time, but he also isn't absolutely inferior as some would like to have us believe.

Re: Did they give Kimi's turbo to Vettel?
If Ferrari could do it, i wouldn't put it past them. I assume not many people on here know exactly what are the control procedures employed by the FIA and if there are possible ways of circumventing those, and yet they are quick to state the rules and act as if enforcing them is guaranteed, and anyo...

I am not sure why this gets repeated, it simply isn't true, in case of Monaco overcut was at least an equally valid strategy for years, especially for car leading the race. Re: How long until Vettel is ahead of Räikkönen
In Monaco did the team ask Kimi if he wanted to pit first? Or did they just request he pitted because if they did then that doesn't look great. Mercedes have always given the leading driver the choice to pit 1st or 2nd. Was there a single instance during 2014-2016 seasons where the leading Merc dri...

Alonso is proud of the fact he always beats his teammate. Did/Does he himself say he always beat(s) his teammates? Because he didn't beat Trulli in 2004 or Hamilton in 2007.
