Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Mike Elliott who over saw the third fastest car with one win to it's credit, what standard are we looking to set here? You notice the difference between Hamilton and Russell but do you really, Hamilton's not happy that's because he wants a car to win races, Russell is happy he just qualified 8 tent...

You wreck your car to a unrepairable extent -

YOU sit - not your teammate - be that Albon or Verstappen.

We clearly had moved on to track limits when you said that they shouldn't be monitored. I didn't say track limits shouldn't be monitored, they should be abandoned completely except for pit entry and pit exit. that wouldnt make much sense, on many "modern" tracks where is just a huge asphalt place w...

Track limits should not be open to human interpretation. The track must enforce its own limits. Exceeding track limits with one tire will cause more than 5 or 10 seconds added to a participants race time. Penalties should not be assessed as time penalties unless the action happens on the last lap. ...

Yes I actually just saw this as well - he was moving when lights went out 100% should have been a penalty regardless of if he decided to stop momentarily again afterwards. It's how the sport has been since the 2010s. It'll lose a bunch of fans now like it did during the 2013-16 domination years but they'll come back or be replaced by newer ones when we get a season or two of excitement and then back to being the usual Been following F1 since 1961 It has always been a...

They totally DISSED the USA races except for Las Vegas.

Too much 'breathless' announcing to some of the On Track scenes - that were not a part of the original telecasts in the English speaking US broadcasts.

Ross Brawn said that if one team got to far in front then something would be done to equalise performance, I'm not sure he's still around. People complain that Checo isn't a teammate that pushes Max.

With 10 wins in a row, nobody else is pushing Max. If Max was pushed by a teammate, would Max lap the rest of the field with his teammate 10 second back at the Checker?

A "T-bone" is a risk almost impossible to compensate for in a formula car. (I purposely have not watched the incident.) Track limit rule is silly. I do not think there is even any advantage, either they put gravel or do not make corner like these. I like these corner and at least in Race they should allow them. Track Limits as F1 are enforcing them are a JOKE. A limit denotes a LIMIT. When the FIRST wheel breaches the limit that should be the penalty, not when the last of 4 wheels breach the limit. The REALITY is the Track Construction should be enforcing the limits of the track - NOT PAINTED LINES. Stewar...

F1 has never been an enterprise where every competitor has a reasonable chance for victory - and it never will be. Someone WILL always get 'the formula' right and ride that advantage for a period of time. Ferrari with Schumache, Red Bull with Vettel, MB with Hamilton and now Red Bull with Verstappen.

Re: F1 is becoming more Americanised and shares some similarities to nascar.

Painted lines do not cut it as 'Track Limits'.

Exceeding track limits affects the car by slowing it because it loses massive grip or by the car hitting a fixed object and being damaged. Real track limits DEMAND respect. Painted lines don't.
