Re: The Official Sir Lewis Hamilton thread
Hamiltons best chance of another title was always going to be a dominant car scenario as Hamilton is weak at qualifying but in that situation he would most likely still qualify second and have more chance on race day. Then hope for a 2016 season which might have happened against Leclerc.

Re: 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
Grown adults should be able to speak their mind, and live with the consequences of doing so (in a work environment) if they so choose. I think in this instance Max, and (presumably) Red Bull, genuinely think it was questionable. You are starting from a place where Oscar was ahead at the apex from a...

He should 100% be allowed to to express his disagreement and a penalty and would be allowed to do this in any other sport I can think of. If it happens to often then it starts to question the integrity of the officials and goes into the realms of time wasting, there was a time were if competitors j...

Re: 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
If Max wants to make a total prat out of himself crying about a penalty he completely deserved then he has every right to do so imo Has he the right to berate officials that did nothing wrong though, he wouldn't in other sports. He should 100% be allowed to to express his disagreement and a penalty...

I don't see any comparison that I made. Were you instead referring to the red flags that brough Lewis back from nearly a lap down in Imola? Or Bottas going bowling against Verstappen in Hungary? All good ones but again nothing I would describe as a fiasco ;) :-P What rules were broken by officials ...

Lewis taking the win in Silverstone despite taking his title-rival out is hardly a fiasco :-P The comparison you look to make says it all really. I don't see any comparison that I made. That was bad from Norris, even on the final lap he just keeps trying to go arund the outside and let's himself get run out. We all knew he needed a better drive from turn 1 and to be close for turn 4.

Re: Verstappen in another deliberate crash!
If Max wanted to avoid a collision in Monza he had the easy option to steer left which we have seen many times and I have mo doubt the vast majority of the grid would do to Max himself, the collision was always happening once Verstappen gets angry over the pitstop, granted it doesn't take much.

TBF rbirules is deliberately making this ridiculous point deliberately because it's ridiculous. It's to draw a comparison with saying Prost had to beat Senna/Rosberg/Lauda. The point being that with the retirements they had they didn't have a chance to challenge Prost just like Vettel, Kimi and Alo...

FIA deliberately slowed Mercedes down for 2021, this isn't difficult to understand. Only for some. Re: Lando Norris 2024 "driver error" lost points
Baku, Spa and Monza was big errors by Mclaren/Norris, races which Max underperfomed or had the penalty and they mucked it right up. Roles reversed and Max wins 2 if not all of them. Those 3 races alone could have been a nice chunk of points. Norris should have won Hungary when Max was finishing lowe...

I've gone for Leclerc and a peak Alonso and Hamilton. I just think Leclerc would get more poles, convert more of them poles and with a chance to win the title he wouldn't be such a pushover in wheel to wheel combat.

Top 3 shows playing for the red flag is the strategy to go for, not good for F1. Always knew Norris is not at that high level and another race proves that, deep down he know he should be WDC this year.

All drivers did the same thing so you can't give a penalty for one. It didn't take much for the first few cars to follow and that's no excuse.

Re: 2024 São Paulo Grand Prix Race Thread
Recovery drives are not all what they are made out to be, Max will most likely get a podium and maybe contest the win. Cars starting from the pitlane, cars moving out the way so the points loss won't be that bad. For a weekend taking a penalty it will be looking pretty good.

After the grid is decided and 3 cars moving straight out the way, with rain I expect Max will win it. It will just come to Max's mindset at the start, so other drivers be warned.

When racing a title rival Max shows his not as mentally strong as some might think and he had 57 point lead with around 95% chance of winning the title. Some of the penalties today have me scratching my head, Russell's especially. As said before, you can't just hang a car on the outside and expect space - you can give yourself space by yielding when the corners lost. Can only assume the stewards have more data. The data probably coming from Liberty.
