Don;t think Merc will dominate in the engine dept in 2021. I think all the engones will be very simliar in peformance in 2021. hence a freeze would good for everyone, not just RB

Re: 2020 British Grand Prix Practice And Qualifying Thread
I support Albon but I have to admit he is slower than Gasly. Redbull needs to get serious and get some experience in that second seat. Hulkenberg or Perez would both be a sound choice. They need someone to help steer them in the right direction. Right now they’re just going backwards. I was impress...

What happened for Norris?? Surprising lap. He did it on a new set of tyres. Also the track tempeature improvement seems huge here. Yes - Max's mishaps have sucked a lot of life out of the race, and it was of his own making. Merc in damage limitation regarding brake temps. We can see Albon has the pace so imagine the pressure Max could be applying - though they are controlling the pace at the front no doubt. Wasn;t max's fault....

Albon doing his best Gasly impression. 1 sec away from Max. Jeez. I guess that car is just tailored to Max's driving style. Ferrari are nowhere They just don't have any downforce compared to RB and Merc do they? Looks like pole will be between Max and Lewis. Noone else is close at the moment. Albon...

I personally think there is elements of truth, but only dirng short bursts during qualifying.. not sustainaable of a race. meaming their average sutainable max power and drivablity for the race is definitely behind the other 3 PUs. Not sure why Renault would want to give out the statement they've m...

These horsepower figures mean little. It's only the maximum power that the engine produces right on the rev limit, it's not a great indicator of overall engine performance as it tells you nothing about what power is produced lower down the rev range. Mercedes response of "We would not talk about 10...

Ricciardo isn't as good as Verstappen and I don't think the Renault is as good as the Red Bull/Haas/Mclaren/Alfa. The drivers have been flattering the Renault as well. It's too bad Alonso isn't still driving this year, because I'd be curious to see how close it would be between Alonso's Macca and V...

On today's race I'd suggest Honda are still a bit behind Renault. It's possible of course that Red Bull have produced an average car this year but the balance of probability would suggest that their PU is holding them back, given that they looked no better (and I'd suggest slightly worse) than both...

Renault will continue to eat the dust of the Redbull, and that Renault will contnue to be the best of the rest, though TR won't be far behind
As for Mclaren, a bigger overhaul would be required as they will still lag behind the Renault.

Back on subject, I'm rather amused that it was very hard to get anyone to say a good word about Honda last year when McLaren were ditching them (I've always said they should have stuck at least for 2019/20 and changing for the new formula if they still had issues) and now it seems the majority are ...

And if you really still wonder why a top team like Mercedes would sign Hamilton... just as same as why McLaren would sign Alonso, and Ferrari sign Alonso and then Vettel, and so on. They are the best and fastest F1 drivers that are available to them at the given time. Does that make a sense to you?...

Re: When will everyone realize McLaren's wearing no clothes?
I think that McLaren and Red Bull were a step above Lotus and Ferrari in 2012. They took poles regularly while Lotus and Ferrari struggled to compete in qualifying. Hard to disagree with that imho. Lotus had a good race car but it wasn't equal all round to McL or RB. 2012, I would say it was a batt...
