Re: 2025 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread
I had Norris 5th and Piastri 10th in the pre-season rankings based on what they'd done so far, with projected rankings for rookies. Norris doesn't look like he'll be jumping up from 5th and Piastri is for sure top 4 right now. Russell and Leclerc are probably faster qualifiers but Piastri has the be...

Piastri is very very smart wheel-to-wheel.
Norris is flying and he should make it a Mclaren 1-2 in short order.

I just feel like Norris mucking up his overtake TWICE in a row on Hamilton disqualifies him from contention. That was a bit daft - his race engineer had to tell him to "play the game".

Re: 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Race Thread
Antonelli is basically the opposite to everyone expected. Not much pace but very consistent with zero errors. Antonelli is very quick in qualification. Is he? Russell had 4 tenths on him in quali here and the closest Antonelli has gotten all season is 2 tenths. Russell is one of the 3 best qualifie...

Re: 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
He's turnipped it again. Norris won't be winning this year at this rate, too many mistakes. Same as last year. I wonder how much he regrets all his comments about it being easy to win in the best car. It's frustrating because I think he has a fraction more raw pace than Piastri still but just doesn...

Got himself an extra look by doing two runs, getting provisional pole by 0.001s and then getting pole by 0.010s. And I'm sure having that extra balls-to-the-wall lap helped him eke out that tiny bit of extra performance for his pole effort. Tremendous session and two stellar laps by Max with strong ...

Re: Who is favourite for the championship?
It's hard for me still to overlook Norris' previous qualifying dominance over Piastri and it's a long season where competitive teammates will see numerous ebbs and flows. I do wonder how Norris will deal with the challenge though should Piastri go on a serious run. To suddenly have a car capable of ...

Re: 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
That was bad from Norris, even on the final lap he just keeps trying to go arund the outside and let's himself get run out. We all knew he needed a better drive from turn 1 and to be close for turn 4. Precisely. Sloppy and frankly weak weekend from Lando. Piastri bludgeoned him. Car was still good ...

Re: Who is favourite for the championship?
I think McLaren's advantage right now is more than merely small. Not massive, but moderate and very clear. In the running to win every race with no end in sight, just a speculative hope(?) for a jolt to dynamics from round 9.

TBH, Piastri looks more mentally able & prepared to fight for the WDC title than Norris. Norris always in the interviews seems so relaxed & seems to lack a little focus. He also doesn't look hungry enough to claim a WDC title. Oscar keeping it cool while Lando keeps talking strange things, inventin...

Wasn't this Norris chap voted here as 3rd (or was it 2nd... I guess that was Leclerc) best driver on the grid. Big shellacking administered by Leclerc over Hamilton too and I'm pretty sure this is going to be the general tale of the tape for the season. Russell on fire (as he often is) and great eff...

Who I think will win & who I want to win are two different things. I think Verstappen's the clear favorite here. It's quite obvious the cars still very compatible to his driving style & RB are still the team to beat when it comes to strategy. They're prioritising the WDC, and their 1-driver policy ...

Re: Who is favourite for the championship?
Hard call. McLaren seems to have the car to beat, but it's very hard to pick a driver between them. That leaves Verstappen, but it's unclear if Red Bull will remain within striking distance over the course of the season. I wouldn't say there's any clear favorite. But if I had to place a bet, I'd pl...

I'll bet on Max under the assumption that the tide will turn against McLaren a little bit after the TDs further addressing flexi wings are introduced from round 9 onwards. Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Japan 2025
Controversially I've gone for Piastri, I felt his race was stifled by his teammate. The thing is tough, he qualified behind even when Norris made a mistake earlier on and i think that should have enabled him to get pole. Both of them should have beaten Verstappen. Still, Norris did outqualify Piast...

Re: Driver(s) of the day - 2025 Japanese Grand Prix
Max shouldn't have been able to hold off Norris so easily. He'd have probably done the same vs Piastri if he was instead behind but at least Piastri would have put a lot more pressure on Max and been in DRS range for substantial stretches. Regardless of some underperformance from Norris regarding pu...

Anyway my takes from the race, Verstappen won from the faster McLaren's, I'm not sure what Norris was playing about if he was looking to save tyres when there seemingly was no need, maybe he just didn't have the pace, Verstappen has to be relieved that it wasn't Piastri directly behind him. Hamilto...
