Re: Who will win the Championships?

I wonder just what lengths Max will go to. If he's clearly slower in Saudi, might he find a way to take Hamilton (and himself in the process) out, take his grid penalty for the next race in Abu Dhabi and finish 2nd anyway to win this thing? Trying such a shenanigan in the final race of the season co...

Re: Who will win the Championships?

Looks to me like Hamilton will win the WDC providing the drivers perform as expected and there is no stroke of bad luck. Given the performance advantage, Hamilton might need a hefty dose of bad luck in the last 2 races to lose the title. With clean races, I'm expecting 2 more Hamilton victories. How...

Re: 2021 Qatar Grand Prix Race Thread

Bottas legitimately amuses me. But that's very swift and decisive work from Max to get started, with a good start and a hefty pace advantage. Now it's big boss Hamilton.

Apparently there might be some front endplate damage for Verstappen affecting his pace a bit.

The new footage really puts Max and the racing in a rather bad light.

Truly ominous pace from Ham-Merc. Don't be surprised if they sweep the rest of the season and Ham wins the title.

Hamilton, whilst being an all time great, has very rarely been the best driver in F1 over his career. I'll bite. Again... can't complain about a boring race. The result was not clear until the last lap.
Maybe Hamilton might have got one stab on the last lap if Max hadn't got DRS from Schumacher.
I don’t think Verstappen did get DRS, it didn’t look like it on the tv.
He got it.

Re: 2021 U.S Grand Prix Race Thread

Great race and great drives from Verstappen and Hamilton. Verstappen showed more maturity than I gave him credit for, backing out of turn 1 and Lewis drove incredibly well to get close to winning in an inferior car. I think bull had a smidge of a pace overall, wouldnt call it inferior. Mediums they...

It's great racing from the two protagonists. Max did a great job of making sure Lewis didn't have even one stab with the DRS. Top stuff from both.

It's a privilege to watch, really.

Vettel with the overtake of the race, too - that was splendid stuff.

This is the first time the whole season I feel like actually saying perhaps Red Bull are now slightly more likely to win the WDC... possibly even edge the WCC - seems the Merc engines are a bit fishy. If Max is fortunate enough to be in competitive cars for the next 15 years he can do it at an average of 6 or so wins a season in 22+ race seasons. Perhaps a few of those years can be very dominant and some others lean, but I think he's well placed and certainly talented enough.

In year 2, Russell will be closer in the races in terms of performance, and perhaps be ahead in races more often than not as he starts to dominate qualifying.

Max over Lewis because of his outstanding and untouchable form in S1. At one point he was 0.33s faster than Hamilton through T3.
