Re: Relief I thought Hamilton had lost his Speed.
I agree the team made a lot of mistakes last year, at least Whitmarsh admitted blame about it. But Lewis didnt. He just packed up and left. This despite the team sticking their neck out for him during his low point and numerous mistakes in 2010-2011. The same team that nurtured him from the beginni...

Re: Lewis Hamilton Dislikes These Tires Too
The tyres are Sh+t we hear the race engineers giving the drivers delta times in the races instead of telling them to push. The laptimes are about 2 sec slower than it would be possible. We don't see the cars driven on their limit, and racing is called off for the sake of the tyres. It more about cru...

Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
If we are going to get pedantic then not even leading the last lap matters. Only leading when crossing the line for the final time matters. Ask Barrichello. If someone else had said this you'd have walked on by Fact is, like it or not, Lewis had done enough to take third, 15 points and podium if Ni...

Re: Relief I thought Hamilton had lost his Speed.
I agree with Blinky partly about the focus part. The rapper friends and music etc is a non issue. Where he misses out on focus is the fact that he is too emotional. 2010-11 is case in point when he apparently broke up with Nicole. That time his emotions get the better of him. Garagetinkerer was spo...

Re: Relief I thought Hamilton had lost his Speed.
Mistakes? At Valencia Hamilton went into the weekend leading in the points. But during the race he made the mistake of racing someone who was definitely in the WDC picture, and suffered a DNF. From that point on, he was out of the WDC race. When he and Maldonado got together, he was not thinking ab...

Hamilton failed to win, and Hamilton failed to be in a position to defend third. But, But... Lewis is the fastest man ever! Humor aside, I accept that statement, he is freaking quick. Re: Relief I thought Hamilton had lost his Speed.
From what I have observed on Hamilton is that he sometimes loses focus, and allows himself to be distracted. If you follow Vettel closely, there is just one thing on his mind, racing and winning. He avoids the news and net, doesn't post on Twitter, his actions, thoughts, and focus are centered arou...

They can. It's a solid car with great drivers, if other teams/drivers keep to mess it up, Mercedes has a good chance for both titles

Who ever is in front when the race is called off stays in front. RBR wanted it, Mercedes, McLaren ( China 2010 , Turkey 2010, etc) Lewis was the whole race in front of Rosberg, he was as Brawn called it off, why should Rosberg get ahead with team orders than? Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
My question has always been why Nico seemed pretty unaware of his fuel issues till the end not was it true he had fuel issues or not. Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
We have to consider a few thing here. 1. Ususally the radio messages relayed to us are a few laps old. WE heard them at 12-10 laps from the end. Also I distinctly remember Brundle(?) saying that the relay was "probably is just a few laps old" because even Rosberg had started to cruise from then on....

Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
One of the strongest pieces of evidence for me indicating that Hamilton was too low on fuel but Rosberg wasn't is that Mercedes had told Hamilton he was low on fuel earlier in the race because he was complaining on the radio about his pace being compromised due to having to lift due to being low on...

Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
I can understand why Mercedes aren't keen to let their competitors in on their fuel consumption, but the fact remains that Rosberg still doesn't agree with the call, and was robbed of potentially very important points come the end of the season. (A reasoning Ross Brawn knows extremely well!) It's p...

Why is everybody saying there was a risk of colliding or messing up everything? Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
We should also consider the fact that it was a kind of home race for Mercedes (w.r.t. Petronas), it's not very hard to believe they were extra cautious not to mess anything up. Either or both cars failing to finish, especially due to fuel issues would've been a major embarrassment. Indeed, which is...

Looks like the tyres (and temperatures) play are very big part who is faster. If one team gets one compound to work better they are faster but it can change, very fast with an other tyre compound RBR got the hard tyres better to work, therefore they have been faster in the later part of the race, wh...

Re: Hamilton/Rosberg Sepang Uberthread
This is how I see it. First of all, Nico had a little bit more fuel towards the end. He tried to overtake Hamilton 2 times but Hamilton overtook him back in both occasions. Nico went on team radio and asked the team for Hamilton to move over for him. Ross Brawn denied. That was about 10 laps(?) bef...

Stop talking nonsense, he did not ask the team to tell Lewis to let him past. He merely asked permission to pass him. To me the situation looked like a #1-#2 driver order. Rosberg passed Hamilton, then Hamilton repassed Rosberg, then the order came for them to stop racing. So they were allowed to race beyond the final stops and there was nothing in their racing that suggested they were going to end up having an ac...

Had there been a threat to 3rd and 4th then Rosberg would have been let through in a flash. That is precisely the weak point in the whole team order debate. Funny to read people posting and saying Hamilton "beat" Rosberg in Sepang. Please understand Formula 1 racing is not only about who is fastest over one lap, b...
