Re: F1, Racism & BlackLivesMatter

I find it so sad that the people on this forum think they are "helping" by suggesting how Lewis should deal with this issue, because clearly it's not at all ironic that a load of white people are telling him how to accept something that they have absolutely no clue about, and from the comments, hav...

Re: F1, Racism & BlackLivesMatter

I really can't see any of these gestures by sportsmen and other celebrities achieving anything, for the fundamental reason that I don't think awareness is the issue. Whilst America clearly has racial issues, I cannot agree with the idea that they exist because people are either unaware of them, or ...

LOL Good luck with that. The WORLD STAGE today is such that Sports ARE VEHICLES FOR MAKING POLITICAL STATEMENTS and sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no way ANYONE has the testicular fortitude to tell a Black man in Lewis Hamilton to not voice his opinion on political issues, especially ones...

Vettel to replace Perez at Racing Point/Aston Martin

Thought this deserved a separate thread. Not sure I understand this. Perez has been solid for years, and is to be replaced by Vettel who really hasn't shone for a while now. An expensive choice which I can't really see the benefit in. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but always interesting nonetheless to...

Reverse Grid Sprint Races back on the table?

Maybe rather artificial but the sport does have to retain/attract casual fans. Lewis cruising to a managed win each week can't be good for business long term.

Re: F1, Racism & BlackLivesMatter

I don't have a great deal to add to this as most angles have been covered, but from my personal perspective as a 'person of colour'*, I believe the way it has been handled has created more racists and racism on both sides of the argument. The media has happily stoked the divisions too with their rep...

Re: Sebastian Vettel to leave Ferrari at end of season

Vettel supposedly turned down a McLaren offer. It's Mercedes or retirement for him allegedly. Mercedes were never going to take him, even if Hamilton had for some reason left they'd have chosen someone else - someone younger and cheaper. And let's be honest everyone would have wanted the seat. For ...

Re: Sebastian Vettel to leave Ferrari at end of season

What about Bottas to Ferrari? A proven track record of being a solid number 2 and might actually be better than Sainz if that’s the route they want to go down. Well it's a weird season anyway - how about Bottas and Vettel swap places right now and we get the showdown we've wanted for however many r...

Don't know if this has been picked up on elsewhere but major annoucement seems to be 2021 changes delayed by a year so next year's season to be run under current regs. Lewis will be happy, everyone else less so!

It's probably an England - Scotland thing. Many Scots will pick anyone over an English person in sport.

'Anyone but England' frequently heard once Scotland get knocked out of any football competitions. Which is usually fairly early on :)

Virtually no suspension travel and 200mph speeds is not just a challenge, it's potentially spinal injury. Would be interesting to see the vertical G loads drivers encounter compared to the lateral G loads that would require medical attention.

It's easy to do 60 laps on a tyre. Not easy to do it and win the race.

Can people please stop giving credit to Mercedes' decision to pit Hamilton into open track behind him. It was a shot to nothing, if it didn't work out then he would still finish 2nd anyway, and it's no different than when teams have been pitting drivers from 5th or 6th on gone 'fastest lap hunting'...
