Re: 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread
I’m a Lewis fan but the whole incident is ridiculous. Ocon is lying well outside the points and he has no chance of obtaining anything from the race - he had no need to pursue Max into the corner and should simply have got off the accelerator and let him take the corner. I don’t buy the argument abo...

Lewis will obviously be trying to avoid a Collision on the first lap but as per the race last year, it can be possible to be shunted from behind whilst minding your own business.
The weather forecast is also showing moderate rain so here’s hoping we don’t get another Singapore 2017 start

Re: 2018 U.S. Grand Prix Race Thread
Off topic and a bit late but... I do find it strange that the guy starting P2 at the US GP gets the inside line in the run down to turn one. I get that it’s an anti clockwise track and P2 is the dirty side of the grid - but between 2015-2018 on 3 occasions the driver starting P2 has taken the lead a...

Re: 2018 U.S. Grand Prix Race Thread
That race for Mercedes was as bad strategically as anything we have seen from Ferrari this season. But it will matter not a jot. I know we are all great strategists in hindsight. Pitting Hamilton under VSC was absolutely correct IMO. But theu should have covered Max off by pitting earlier. The same...

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
Yeah agreed
Many people say Lewis should have won 2007 and maybe lost 2008 - yet roles were reversed
Massa had an engine failure on the last few laps of Hungary in 2008 which would have made a huge difference to the outcome.

Many of these records are Wikipedia footnotes The main one is clearly the number of WDC and race wins. - Race wins is probably more likely . WDC is possible but I guess luck will play a part. Blown engines and a Gravel Trap in the pits ! are both things that have cost Lewis an extra 2 WDCs and nobod...

What are overtaking opportunities like here in comparison with the remaining races ?
Easier to overtake here than Brazil and Mexico
But more difficult than USA and Dubai ?

Well 5 races to go and 125 points on the table.
If Lewis can get 2 more wins - That will give at least 64 Point lead with only 75 on the table .
Seb will have to be hoping he has at least 1 DNF to have any chance of turning this one round

Of course Bottas is professional enough to understand that. Even I understand that line of reasoning. What I don't understand is what I didn't see: the necessity. Desirable it may have been, though the fact that both drivers scored points, with Bottas needing more of them than Hamilton, argues agai...

Re: Is there any doubt anymore about Hamilton vs. Vettel?
For me the main reason why I would rate Alonso a nudge above Hamilton is consistency. Hamilton on top form is untouchable, but he also has a few weekends per year where he's just nowhere. I don't think Alonso would have struggled like Hamilton did in China and Canada this year for instance. Nor wou...

There are still 300 points up for grabs after this race - it won’t determine anything. Incredible from Leclerc. Not sure where to come down on the Red Bull incident, Verstappen moved twice but I'm not sure there was ever a gap on the inside, I'll have to watch it back. Appreciate that he wants to win the race - but what I will say is that it would be foolish to try a risky overtake or fight too hard if he's about to be overtaken himself. He has to remember what happened in 2007 in China with that senseless fight with Kimi on track before the Gravel Trap incident a...

With Lewis only needing 9 points now (possibly less if Vettel fails to win all races) Do you think either Mercedes or Lewis will change their approach to the next race?
