Re: The Lance Armstrong effect...What would happen if.......
Good point! Since they did not take away Alonso's Singapore win, it raises a question about what FIA will do retroactively? Sweet FA by the look of it. Unless they find out within the same season maybe, like 2007 McLaren. Maybe there's only a certain jurisdiction of time within which they can make ...

I think this fits nicely in here: "Dont throw with rocks when you live in a glasshouse" I could understand the virocity of the defense if you were all saying Vettel's drive was fairy cakes based totally on luck but most of the people who say it had an amount of fortune also congratulate him on a to...

You're not pointing it out because you know you're plainly lying and you're too scared to admit you're wrong. FACT IS that the 'crashfest' happened behind him. This is exactly the problem in this whole discussion; people make up what happened in their mind and are wilfully blind when the facts tell...

Re: How can people not see Vettel was just lucky!!??
Fans feel that drivers with multiple WDC must be better (more talented) than someone with one because they won it more times but its not the case, it's just that they've had the package required and finished off the job more. Usually it's the fans of the driver with less that panic and cry that it ...

The Rubens Barrichello syndrome! So when Vettel leaves Red Bull/Webber retires, we're gonna have a weekly 'it's so unfair'-Tweet? Spare me :( But no, Mark's an honest and good guy. He's never hid his feelings before, and I will put my in a fire to say he won't. If he was being bullied at Red Bull, ...

But gaining 26 seconds is. What good is gaining 26 seconds ( 14,42 to Button, but ok ) if it doesn't/hardly gains you any points? You're just grasping at things that make it seem like luck, while it was actually utterly insignificact. Gaining that much time in a race is massive. Regardless of point...

Re: Strategy vs. Luck Questions/Observation
Not one has labelled his drive as plain luck. Everyone actually acknowledges a very great drive from him. But also that events in the race went greatly in his favour. Most of them small, but they add up. The crashfest more than anything helped him get past a lot of the quicker cars. You don't have ...

Re: If I was Webber I would want out of Red Bull after today
Its ok, there is a lot of conspiracy surrounding F1, more so if you are at the top. Most of the time its the "Mark is given inferior car" posts. Trust me we dont have the time to build different performing bits and even if we could, it would not be beneficial for the team. Yet why is it lately that...

I really dont get why it causes such a big issue. The drivers get paid to drive the car for the team. At the end of the day, like it or not , they are just paid employees like the rest of the team. As mentioned above , if Mark really felt so hard done by would he keep signing contract extensions ? ...

Re: Strategy vs. Luck Questions/Observation
The problem/sad thing is, when most people start talking about luck, they use that as a stick to discredit his drive. "Nice drive, great luck." That's just jealousy/envy, as we've seen a little too often towards Vettel. What I'm wondering is, when is the last time we saw a driver come through the fi...

Interesting... Hmmm, let's see. 2011 Canada Grand Prix was won by McLaren driver Jenson Button who overtook Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel on the last lap, making a total of 34 passes throughout the race.[3] The race made new records with it being the longest in Formula One history, lasting 4 hou...

Credit to an autosport.com-user who worded it perfectly. Massa didn't deserve a black flag for spinning back into the direction of the track. Don't be silly. Well, he got lucky that there was a first corner tangle that gave him at least 2 positions. With Hulk and Senna all being involved. Of which Senna stayed ahead. The crucial bit is that Vettel was 4th, and a good 20 seconds behind Button in 3rd. With the SC he was 4th, and about 0.5 seconds behind Button in 3rd. With Vettel's pace, he may have caught Button before the end, but theres no denying he benefitted. and before you go on about how "oh it's only 1 p...

He finished 3rd, probably not unreasonable given the destruction derby going on around him , and the SC situation, and Weber ceding a place. The 1st safety car didn't cost him as he was able to pit and get back onto the back behind much slower cars. The first safety car is what forced him into the pits in the first place.
