Re: Was Ferrari infringing on the technical directive before
doesnt the fact that binotto has said the 2020 engine is not as strong as 2019 say it all. he might also say its due to better reliability but thats nonsense. if last years engine was legal, this years would not be worse . I am not sure I agree with this last statement. The Mercedes engine was lega...

There is no way on this earth ferrari have been acting within the spirit of the rules. I would call it cheating. This is year 6 of the hybrid engines. vettel is a very fast driver but an average racer. the only time he doesnt make mistakes is when out front by himself. all his career he has made mistakes when in the pack, although it is getting worse with age. in terms of points, ferrari would probably have done better with kimi and Leclerc this s...

Re: Ferrari team orders in Russia
As i have said many times in the past, just let them race. simple. dont run into each other is the only rule. the only time to even think about team orders is after the final stop. far less problems overall doing it this way. the main problem with yesterday was that it was unfair on Leclerc as he di...

nothing needs to change they just messed up. they shouldve left the pits with 2.30mins left which happened in q2 but in q3 they were closer to 2mins. then the games were even more silly because its q3. but i cant believe the teams, where every fraction of a second is so crucial, allowed it to happen...

Hamilton. Although i reckon he has always been a **** even as a kid, he has taken it to a new level and i just see him as fake. vettel. never rated him apart from when he has the fastest car from pole. the most error prone supposedly top driver i can remember. an slightly uprated massa. probably ver...

Will be interesting to read the official ruling. I think we can all agree on that. It won't matter. 95% of F1 fans are incapable of looking at things impartially. Most of the backlash is motivated by the fact that Hamilton and Mercedes have been winning so much and a lot of fans want that to end. I...

could he have done a little bit more to stay left. Yes possibly, but he is trying to stay ahead which any racing driver would.
did it deserve a penalty. No
Would hamilton have done the same. Yes
If he had made contact with hamilton or forced him into the wall it would have been a penalty.

so why the hell hasnt someone else gone with low rake. without checking, havent merc run lower rake since 2014? the others have followed newey, which in fairness isnt a bad way to go, but without blown diffusers lower rake seems to have worked better.

On average it isn't though. For every 1999 you get multiple seasons where team orders allow the lead driver to wrap up the title sooner/easier, such as 2001, 2002 and 2018. Plus in China 2019, it only turned out that Seb wasn't much faster and couldn't get 2nd. Ferrari weren't to know that before t...

Agreed. The teammate swap was made under the justification that the faster driver (Vettel) could actually catch and threaten a Mercedes, not that he might be a few tenths faster than Leclerc. Simply putting the marginally faster driver in front is not justification for a swap if it doesn't improve ...

tyres too hard. canada 2010 was awesome hence pirelli were tasked with making softer tyres. some of the best racing recently were high deg races as it gives a bigger differential between cars depending on how they manage tyres, new v old etc. undercut more powerful but risk running out at the end. f...

Surely sandbagging is fine up to a point? You need to know how your whole package shakes down at a full pace race distance - especially how the tyres cope. Or are Merc going to do a 2014 on us? (highly unlikely!) Plus merc had a few tyre issues last season where they couldnt get them in the window....
