For those asking, Eurytus was the worst kept secret in mod history on this forum, with the possible exception of Blake's big reveal aeons ago. He was basically abusing members who disagreed with him, then banning them for getting frustrated with him. There's a lovely irony in that half the team tha...

Re: Villeneuve and Pironi, death by ignoring orders/agreemen

I'm happy to let this continue as a Villeneuve/Pironi debate. I'm very surprised to hear that there was ever a suggestion that Gilles was on an in lap when the accident happened. He had gone out with brand new "stickered" quali tyres on and was going hugely faster than the car of Jochen Mass which ...

Re: A rounded review about the tyre situation (good and bad)

The whole philosophy is wrong, tyres shoudk be designed to last for a minimum of 90% of the race (so some drivers get a little advbantage for guile and tyrecraft but not the current situation). Want to liven up the show its simple MANUAL GEARCHANGES Better test of driver skill than pootling around c...

Re: Villeneuve and Pironi, death by ignoring orders/agreemen

Villenueve had set out to beat Pironi´s qualifying time but he WAS on an in lap but driving at higher than normal speed for an in lap when he chanced upon Jochen Mass. Was he hoping for another flying lap we will never know, if so was he motivated more so than usual by Pironi´s behaviour two week be...

Not sure what the OP means by a weak car. Keke Rosberg became WDC in 1982 in a Williams which only won one race . His normally aspirated Williams was regularly out qualified and outdragged on the straights by the turbo cars but it had a nimble chassis and Rosbergs car control and will to win ( a yea...

Re: F1 Korean GP Pole position was it on the wrong side??

The origins of the term pole position come from horse racing, in which the fastest qualifying horse would be placed on the inside part of the course, next to the pole. If that´s the case can we assume (or can anyone confirm) that F1 originally adopted this convention as well?? If so then the Korean...

That's my issue. It presents itself as an economical and political union, yet it's powers and responsibilities exceed this. Iraq is a perfect example. How can you present any institution with an award in a field it is not unified on? Again, back to communistic rule, merely from the point of maintai...

It was in my opinion, surely the pole sitter should get the advantage i.e the inside line into the first corner?????

Jean Alesi perhaps should have won more than just the Canadian Grand Prix in the 1995 season I confess I am a fan but I believe the stats as I recall Monaco 1995 - Retired from 2nd whilst closing in on P1 Schumacher (taken out by Brundle when lapping him). Spain 1995 - Retired from 2nd (car failure)...
