Re: The 2017 Feeder Series Thread
The Formula V8 3.5 could be on their last legs following of the withdrawal of Adren. It will only leave 10 cars on the grid. https://www.motorsport.com/f3.5/news/arden-confirms-formula-v8-3-5-departure-884591/ Crazy, a couple of years ago Formula Renault 3.5 was considered the best and most competi...

Re: Revisiting 'Medals'...
The current points system works quite well in my opinion. The fact that Nico had to finish on the podium to win either means the championship was quite close, or the points gap between the podium and the minor placings is sufficiently large. Lewis only won one more race than Nico (10-9), it's not a...

Since Sainz (Toro Rosso) & Bottas (Williams) names have been included in the F1 2017 list published by the FIA, can any driver (including these 2) be swapped & if yes, what's the maximum time within which this could be deemed legal before the start of the season or 2017 year? considering there have...

DOUBLE POINTS FINALE FTW I actually think this is the best solution if you want nail biting exciting racing. Too many people knocked it without seeing the benefits. if the race was twice as long, or even a double header round, I'd be... less judgemental about it, but for one standard race to be wor...

I just can't see William's getting much in the way of Bottas going to Mercedes if Mercedes really want him. Surely Bottas would be dying to get the seat as well? Hopefully it's only just their preferred option and they would be open to bringing in another driver like Sainz if it's too much effort t...

I heard Sainz is their backup if they can't get Bottas. I think this stuff about Pascal having a bad reputation must be true if Mercedes haven't given up yet.

Just thought of something else Channel 4 need to sort out. Ben Edwards needs a new microphone! Did anyone notice how terrible it sounded when he was announcing Rosberg's Championship. It was distorting terribly. Even at the end of the show, they repeated that moment with that poor distorted bit of ...

The fact that Mercedes didn't even seem to try and push Wehrlien in to a midfield team suggests to me that they have little faith in him. I think we're in for one more surprise this year.

Didn't current F1 drivers of the day jump into F3 cars for the Macau Grand Prix? Even this year Antonio Felix Da Costa and Felix Rosenqvist took part, and they're both a bit higher than F3 level. incidentally they finished first and second, respectively. I wouldn't object to F1 drivers jumping in a...

Camara impressed me at Macau this year, so him, Leclerc and assuming Giovinazzi in GP2 sounds very good to me. I tend to only watch feeder series for important or good races, but I think I might watch GP2 from the start this year, and European F3.

I still think he'd score more points than Gutierrez. His results weren't too bad against Dan and Dan is considered a top table driver now. He nearly trebled Kvyat's score in the same car Haas signed Gutierrez for more than just his driving though. Him being one of only two North American drivers an...

It's a ridiculously small number. Expect reliability to mix things up again next year Which I think is good, as it challenges the designers and engineers to build reliable parts which could handed down to road cars. parts that only need to last a few hours are useless anywhere other than racing. I'...

Good item on Joe's blog today ( https://joesaward.wordpress.com/ ) reminding people of the Contracts board all teams and drivers sign up to. Probably get a stop gap in until Alonsos contract runs out. IMO, there have only been three Alonso-Level drivers that have retired comparatively (meaning not died, fired, or raced in an era where drivers were on average older, and in the case of Stewart, retired earlier than expected): Prost was 38...

Looks like it's confirmed. I'm looking forward to this, with Austria and now this, along with the prospect of Imola, hopefully a bit of a renaissance for classic tracks.

I've had a few hours to let it sink in, I'm disappointed in him that he would just pack his bags once he got the prize. F1 means you're on the road for a lot of the time, and Nico is a family man, now he can see his daughter grow up, and race when he wants too. Perhaps doing Formu...

I'm hesitant to judge either of these shows. I mean, if you go back and watch Old Top Gear, with Tiff Needell, It was a bit spartan and dull unless you're very in to cars to the point you care about suspension stiffness. I understand both sides of the argument. On one side, Hamilton is fighting for the championship, and it's pretty much the only thing he can do to influence the outcome. On the other hand, Rosberg moved over for him in Monaco, something that helped him in the race, and without it, it's possible (but ...
