Re: Should the Monaco GP be on the calendar?
Yes, if something can be done to restructure the track to allow overtaking. Going by today's race, any of the top teams could have won this race if they were just ahead. Didn't matter if you had someone with fresh tyres on someone with 30 lap old ones. The few that tried ended up in incidents.

Snoozed through the better part of this race, no idea who to give this to. However, if there was a team of the race award, pretty sure I wouldn't award it to Mercedes!

This is ridiculous. I was one of those who paid for the app last time around, but asking to pay 2.5 times more for this year is plain stupid. F1 keeps moaning about losing audiences.. Well, it will really have to fight to keep a hold of its existing fans at this rate. Wow.

Re: Formula '14 or Formula '13?
Funny thing is, F1 2013 probably had a much closer leading field than what 2014 has had so far. But even in the races where Mercs haven't hit reliability issues, we have seen a lot of close knit racing, and that in my view makes this year much better than the previous year/formula. The pecking order...

Laura, your theory fails to take into account that Redbull isn't really the best of the rest all the time. Williams are constantly challenging them, and even with Alonso, Ferrari too are poking their noses into that battle. Yes, If Ricciardo keeps putting in podium level performances, and if both Me...

Re: Lotus confirm Maldonado for 2015
Eh. Was expected. Lotus need the cash from him to stay afloat. For most of the smaller teams, its a lot about who can bring them the cash to stay in F1 rather than who is the most talented. Unfortunately, that's just the way the F1 cash payout structure is, and unless the overall budget to make and ...

Rosberg shouldn't really have a battle, or at least not as much as he would have had if Hamilton had qualified higher, so i expect he can take it easy and nurse the car. Am guessing no reliability issues for Rosberg this time, and Hamilton to fight back and maybe even get a fairytale podium.

Re: 2014 German GP Practice and Qualifying Thread
Looking at the long runs, Redbull and others did seem closer, but i think a gap still exists, and more importantly Mercs seemed to go a tad longer on their long run on supers before the drop-off than the redbulls. Could be significant. We also don't know fuel loads, and exactly how conservative Merc...

Re: 2014 German GP Practice and Qualifying Thread
Looks like Mercs will retain their advantage over the rest, and Hamilton might well hold something over Rosberg given his 36.503 Sector 2 versus the 37.1 for Rosberg. Of course Rosberg too might not have gone too hard. Either ways, Merc domination seem set to continue, and Williams might have fallen...

I definitely think the better the car the closer team mates seem to be. I think with a very good car the quicker driver can't make the difference as they would in a harder car to drive. Nah. Re: Did Hamilton attempt to block Rosberg at the end of Q3?
I never saw a replay of both of their outlaps, but i guess it depends on how long it took Hamilton to get past Perez and how much Perez impeded Hamilton in turn. In hindsight, both Mercs should have been out some 20secs earlier to make sure they had a better buffer. I think Hamilton did reasonably w...

Could have been Lewis was thinking about one less lap of tyre use, but I think probably he was thinking about the press conference. PR talk rarely reflects what goes on within the team. For example, Wolff is quite pessimistic in his media talks, but am sure that's not the sort of pep talk Merc give their Engineers or their racing drivers. I guess the same applies to Mclaren, only in the opposite way. The team know what they need...
