Does anyone genuinely believe that what happened was right, according to the rules? Really? Baffling.

Lewis. Got everything possible from the race, pulled off some beautiful overtakes and managed the final stint brilliantly. Lando was also great in the race and probably extracted the maximum as well but shouldn't have had to work so hard for it if qualifying and the red flag restart had been better.

Re: 2023 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread

God, that race was dull. Are you sure you watched the right channel? Fighting up and down the field, lots of overtaking but it was often not easy and even an overtake for the lead. Sure, it won't be in anyone's top 5 races of the decade but it was not a "dull" F1 race. Glad you enjoyed it. But for ...

Sky's presenters won't bother me anyway because its just the free highlights coverage for me this year.
Aah, yes, lovely meejum tyres. Di Resta won't be missed in our household either.

I just don't believe there's enough evidence to say it was deliberate. The motive isn't really strong enough, the telemetry and onboards aren't conclusive either way. It's been a year and I'm still not mentally ready for this one. AD21 still hurts. I'm unendingly impressed with how Lewis held his head high after that, and how he's moved past it, especially with the car being so rubbish this year. Oh well, roll on 2023.

Yes, and it's a problem almost entirely of their own making. It will be interesting to see if and how RBR handle it going forward - it certainly won't be easy to rein him back in after years of coddling and enabling his arrogant attitude. That said, it's probably a net gain for RBR. Max' talent is ...

It would be awful if Hamilton left under these circumstances. Awful for Hamilton, awful for the sport. I wouldn't blame him for hanging up his helmet though.

If he were to go, I'd think they'd want Ricciardo. He's got good experience and would gel well with Russell.

Yes, they should. I don't think they should seek to overturn the result as such - Hamilton would never want his 8th WDC to be won in that manner and it would be cruel to Max, who didn't do anything to cause this mess. But for the intergrity of the sport, Merc should take it as far as they can.
