Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

Hamilton didn't miss 7 races in 2016, please stop making a nonsense comparison. What? Michael entered 10 races in 1999. In those 10 races, Irvine out scored him. The missed races are removed. I think you'll find that he wasn't included for Silverstone. Even in F1's website: https://www.formula1.com...

Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

I truly hate to sound like myattitude but Barrichello was closely matched with peak Button in the twilight of his career and Schumacher absolutely destroyed him. He was also one of the top 3 non-Schumacher drivers in the late 1990s. Well, altogether Button did beat Barrichello significantly. And Ba...

Re: Hamilton vs Schumacher and their contemporaries (split from Official Hamilton Thread)

It's a fact that Hamilton has beaten a better cast of characters within his own team (Alonso, Button, Rosberg) and a better driver than Mika (Vettel), the best rival the grid had to offer Schumacher during his best years, in another team. I truly hate to sound like myattitude but Barrichello was cl...

My main issue is that Schumacher gets a lot of credit in hindsight but absolutely none of the blame in the co...

Yes, that is a myth, really. It started out with some projections than Schumacher with an ideal season could have matched Rosberg (without assuming an ideal season for him as well, of course). Re: Who are the BEST QUALIFIERS on the grid?

However and notwithstanding, if Perez keeps performing like in Bahrain (which I don't believe he will), this will not lead to this conclusion. It was obvious in the race that Perez drove one of the best cars on the grid. The inevitable conclusion is that he messed up qualifying - and that's really ...

WHEN, you seem confident that's going to be the case. Well it's already happened once, in Bahrain. Well, if your prediction comes true this way, people will only conclude that Perez is not up to the job. Perez is a very well-established benchmark. We know exactly how good he is. Looking like there's some potential there for sure, but it's early days and without falling down a racial stereotype rabbit hole, we've seen the same comments in the past about Kobayashi, Sato, even Takagi. But why would you? The lap that decides your position is the lap in Q3 - the only reason to take a Q1 or Q2 lap is if the comparison for Q3 cannot be made for whatever reason. Q3 is supposed to be their ultimate pace - if a driver bottles it, then it is entirely on the driver. How can it be taken a...

I am skeptical that Tsunoda is better than Schumacher. He is better than Latifi for sure, no doubt. He looked faster in F2 last year despite being a rookie compared to Mick in his second year. Junior careers aren't definitive, but it's very reasonable to think Tsunoda is quicker than Schumacher. Yo...
