Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
The Red Bull looks dreadful. Why? Solid P5, faster than both Mercedes. Not brilliant, okay - but dreadful? I commented after FP1 where Verstappen looked like he was wrestling an Octopus every onboard. I've not watched FP2. I only saw FP2 ... The Red Bull looked his stable self, not fast enough for ...

Rosberg, Hill, Villeneuve. Strong doubts about Vettel as well. Please tell me which other 3 drivers preceded these champions in their respective championship years. Rosberg is easy... Hamilton, Alonso and Ricciardo Villeneuve is even easier. He hobbled to the title in a dominant car while crashing ...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Have you not commented on how Norris has "bottled it" in qualifying several times this year? Piastri has had his share of mistakes too, and by far the costliest one (his poor attempt at rejoining in the rain in Australia), even more so than Lando's DNF if Canada. I'm not going to say anybody is an ...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Lindblad will be driving Tsunoda's car in FP1. I'm interested to see how it goes. It's more of an audition. Very interested to see how this goes, especially after Dunne's FP1 success last weekend. It might be more interesting to see Lindblad and Yuki together in FP1 though to get a head to head com...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Why would it be all about Verstappen for me? I think you are honestly projecting here. I wouldn't be following a sport closely for 45 years if it was all about the one driver. At the point that Verstappen's title hopes look to be over we suddenly talk about either Norris or Piastri being unworthy c...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
... Literally nobody on his forum, and barely any in the media is talking about a intrateam WDC "battle" with two drivers separated by 15 points. Why is that? Why are you not talking about it if it's as interesting as you claim it to be? Or rather not as dull as the posters you clap back at are cla...

Terrible driving from both Norris and Piastri. Yet these are the two drivers fighting it out for the WDC. Not going to be a vintage year by any measure. Oh come off it Of course you are free to disagree. I am happy to stake my claim here that we are genuinely looking at two upper mid-tier drivers w...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
What's more enjoyable about it? Surely a season like 1996 where Schumacher actually has to use his talent is way more exciting than a season like 2002. And what's wrong with what we saw yesterday? Neither driver did anything wrong did they? Looked like a good battle at the front between two good dr...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
I think it comes down to what you are looking for in any given sport. I personally much prefer greatness over competition if a choice has to be made between the two. But I am genuinely happy for you and those who enjoy the WDC between Norris and Piastri. We all can't get what we want after all. At ...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
It's ironic that Red Bull would easily be 2nd in the WCC if they had Max in his RB21 and then any of Lawson, Yuki, or Hadjar in a VCARB painted blue with the Red Bull strategy team. I mean given the lack of points the #2 RB driver has accumulated i think Red Bull would be 2nd in the WCC with two bl...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Alonso holding back the much faster Bortoleto was masterclass driving! It was partially related to being a rookie / lack of experience as to the fact that Alonso managed to hold Bortoleto behind though. Bortoleto made quite a big error near the end. He could easily have had Alonso if he didn't atte...

It's a shame to lose Imola but, like Portamo and Istanbul, this was reintroduced during 2020 when Covid affected the race calendar, and it was a shame to lose those circuits as well. I'm not really sold on the Madrid circuit but will reserve judgment until the race has taken place. I'd prefer Porti...

I think the main ones are Hulkenberg and Lawson. Maybe Alonso too. I think Bortoletto's result is not as good as many are implying. As is often the case, first points and rare decent / good performances can swing the votes a bit. Hulkenberg after a very poor Saturday showed just how good that Saube...

While I think that Norris was just that decisive little bit quicker today, Piastri did lose significant time from being squeezed by Colapinto and by Bortoleto conveniently ignoring blue flags in the last lap.

Bortoleto had a good weekend. He was consistently top10 all weekend and Lawson first good race this year. He did well in Moncao qualifying as well but there also he was couple of tenths down.
