Yeah he should have known not to be brave and should have waited to pass in the DRS zone like all good drivers. He went for it and nearly held it, kudos to him, the harsh penalty is only going to discourage drivers from taking risks which is at the heart of real racing.

Ricciardo and Vettel ran the same test as they were both current drivers and weren't allowed to test development parts. And to suggest Vettel would ever not be giving 110% seems to fly in the face of everything we know about him a his ultra competitive nature.

That's because when you are driving an occasionally midfield car it's not all about results, it's about data and speed relative to your teammate.
