Re: 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread

I don't know why Perez retired, and the reasoning RB gave didn't really make any sense with just 1 lap to go, but it benefitted Sainz more than anyone and I don't think he would have retired if the race was to end under SC. Theory going around is that they underfueled Perez. occurred to me that may...

Unfortunately it's becoming more the norm for pay drivers to find seats in a situation were so few seats are available in the first place, this is how I would class Zhou, Mazepin, Latifi and Stroll.
He might be a pay driver, but I wouldn't put Zhou in that company.

Re: Red Bull and Toro Rosso's worst drivers

Kvyat was way better in a Red Bull than Albon. Maybe we have to reassess just how poor Ricciardo was in 2015 given how poor he is this year, the following year Ricciardo was destroying Kvyat and that's partly the reason why Kvyat got demoted. In spite of Kvyat's vast F1 experience over Albon, Albon...

For Red Bull - Doornbos, Liuzzi and Albon.

For STR - Speed and Hartley.
If you list Albon then you have to list Kvyat, Kvyat was no better than Albon as teammates and Albon was a rookie.
If you list Kvyat then you have to list JEV, Kvyat outperformed him handily as a rookie.

That incident on the first lap was Gasly trying to squeeze into a gap that was way too optimistic. Both the commentators on Sky and Channel 4 mentioned that. I think he can be considered at fault for that loss. The overall result points wise still wouldn't be that huge for Gasly had their luck been...

Actually it's quite the opposite, Gasly is the one who fades away by the end while Kvyat typically finishes strong. The most impressive thing about his comeback is his tire management. His race-craft was always quite strong. This is exactly what Gasly is missing right now and was at the root of his...

Unless it is all based on qualifying again, I'm wondering why Kvyat is being heavily outvoted. But even with the penalty, if Kvyat had done what he wanted, he would have been ...

I tend to think that Hamilton was at fault. He could have avoided the collision.
