Re: Red Bull 2021 - who would you sign?
That incident on the first lap was Gasly trying to squeeze into a gap that was way too optimistic. Both the commentators on Sky and Channel 4 mentioned that. I think he can be considered at fault for that loss. The overall result points wise still wouldn't be that huge for Gasly had their luck been...

Re: 2020 British Grand Prix Race Thread
Actually it's quite the opposite, Gasly is the one who fades away by the end while Kvyat typically finishes strong. The most impressive thing about his comeback is his tire management. His race-craft was always quite strong. This is exactly what Gasly is missing right now and was at the root of his...

this wil be basing it on the first race, where his performance did get worse towards the end. But i thought he was consistent in the last couple of races before this weekend. Qualifying is his weekeness though. But still, if he didn't have great speed and some decent overtakes, he wouldn't have cau...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Britain 2020
well as one who constantly defends Grosjean, I can't understand how he gets any votes. Albon was deemed responsible and although I agree magnussen made a mistake, that wasn't the mistake that made him retire. That was poor judgement from albon. After that, Grosjean looked fast, but made mistakes an...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Hungary 2020
Unless it is all based on qualifying again, I'm wondering why Kvyat is being heavily outvoted. On the formation lap, Kvyat made a questioned multiple times if he could box - and the team knew that they couldn't answer. But even with the penalty, if Kvyat had done what he wanted, he would have been ...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Styrian GP
Gasly was significantly better than Kvyat the weekend before last. The team boss said Kvyat was a bit too impatient and Kvyat agreed that he was. This was heavily related to his damage due to his manner of driving. He was also some way behind Gasly which mostly the safety car helped close up. Vette...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Styrian GP
Only 11 finished last week. I can completely see why Alpha Tauri would leave him out. There is nothing to suggest Kvyat would have been faster without the damage. Absolutely none. Gasly was quicker all the way through qualifying as well. He was really impressive. Again, given he qualified well up o...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Styrian GP
While it looks like he thoroughly out performed Gasly, we can't confirm it either way. Basically, he out qualified Kvyat - though was aided by Kvyat being impeded. Then all we saw was Kvyat doing a solid job and Gasly appearing to struggle. We can't Confirm how much the problem will have effected h...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Styrian GP
Yep, watching the replay, Ricciardo contacted his right rear just slightly, but to me it just looked to be on the tyre which survived. But the team also have confirmed that it looked to have signs of damage that they need to investigate. However, I still think Kvyat should have more votes than he d...

Re: Austria '20 Hamilton/Albon
Analysis of the incident by a racing driver (and driving coach) on YouTube: I agree with his point that the incident was wholly set up on corner entry. Interestingly, he doesn't seem to consider it relevant how much room Albon had on the outside, which I agree with. Albon clearly left Hamilton a ca...

Re: Austria '20 Hamilton/Albon
I tend to think that Hamilton was at fault. He could have avoided the collision. While he probably didn't hit Albon intentionally, he decided to take a risk consequences of which were paid by Albon - should be penalized. I wonder about Bottas Q3 run where he ran wide, where it was kind of a similar ...

Re: Silly Season 2020!
A fair point about Ocon, but I just don't see Albon or Kvyat being much of an improvement. Kvyat is already a known quantity at that level and he didn't match up too well against Ricciardo , as well as making mistakes under pressure. And then Albon hasn't looked any better than Kvyat this year. RBR...

I'm going to put something out there. I think Red Bull should attempt to snap up Norris. Red Bull's other drivers in their...

Re: Silly Season 2019
I can't understand the logic of hiring Kvyat. They've already established that he's not good enough and the only reason for bringing him back again is that they've run out of young drivers to promote, incidentally much the same reason that Hartley is there. They'd be better off swallowing their pri...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2018 Singapore Grand Prix
One thing I don't understand is the votes for Serotkin. I bet it is just because he was on the screen for about 20 - 25% of the race. He may have been unlucky at the start, but there isn't really anything he did that was better than Stroll. That pit stop he had at first was a free one. and he could...

Well done Fernando! Although it was effectively a two-horse race he had to drive a big night stint to make up the deficit of a penalty and pulled it off. Replacing Kvyat with Hartley seemed like a strange decision from the get-go and starting to look like a bad one more and more. Although Hartley isn't that far behind and he should get his chance until the end of the year at least.

Re: Pascal Wehrlein to replace Brendon Hartley??
Sainz out qualified Kvyat 8-4 at an average of 0.12s, that's not what I call Kvyat matching Sainz, but the Sainz being over rated bit might be true with him presently getting beat by the Hulk. Kvyat was 6-8 against Sainz last year at an average of .06, no significant difference. Did you google that...

Australia and Bahrain qualies were screwy because of the BS sliding knockout timer thing, or whatever you call it, that year which was really stupid and RB screwed Kvyats qualies because they couldn't adjust to it. He was doing as well as Ricciardo when he was axed. I wonder how an F1 car would do in 6 hour race? Would it make it to the checkered flag? Of course they are not built for that, but what do you think?
