Re: Vettel booed on the podium?
It was kind of strange in that I could hear the sound of booing, but at least in my section down in turn 2 which had the usual large Ferrari contingent and maybe as many cheering for the other podium finisher, and only a rare fan sporting Red Bull colors, I didn't notice anyone booing. I got the fee...

Re: Changing your mind about a driver.
A lot around here were really down on Maldonado last year, while I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was very inconsistent, made some really ugly mistakes, but he also showed some very good pace, and 2012 Barcelona was good enough to believe he could become something special. But this year he's ...

Re: 21 Races potentially on the 2014 Calander
If it was my decision, first on the chopping block would be those with stands that are less than 50% full or drawing 20k or less. For sure 1 fits the 2nd description and several likely fit the 1st description, while lacking any historical significance. If the only appeal is the track is a great circ...

Re: Attending a GP
Just a post-race thank you for all the feedback about Montreal. I stayed a block away from Berri-UQAM station, which was great for getting to and from the circuit, and other events, decent hotel rates, that had great GP atmosphere. And couldn't have been more pleased opting for Section 11-12 for the...

What is going on in August that is making them replay the Belgium race at midnight? You better catch the live one of stay off the net! lol I was wondering that myself. Re: NBC Monaco coverage: WTF HAPPENED?!!
That is promising news about the ratings. But I'm not really surprised. They promoted the hell out of it for weeks, with ad placement across the board on just about every sports programming shown under the NBC brand. That's why I can understand about issues with the recording lengths, but not which ...

Re: Monaco Grand Prix - Drive Of the Day
I'm thinking a good number of votes for Kimi were a result of the mad dash for 10th place in the final laps. Had it been "Lap (or laps) of the Day", I also would have voted for Kimi. I'm a bit surprised only 7 voted for "other", I thought Di Resta would gather more support than that (especially give...

This is one of the reasons, I always add at least an extra half hour to the record time, especially circuits like Monaco and Singapore where its almost a given that there will be at least 1 safety car and even a chance of a red flag. Re: Perez driving today
Without delving into blame on the final situation with Perez and Kimi, the issue I still have with him yesterday is the need for wisdom to understand the risk/reward. He was aggressive through much of the race, and it had paid off for him, but given the stage of the race the incident with Kimi took ...

I didn't think much of it, but given the PC issues, I like it a lot more. I know that's not proper in this 'enlightened' era. But frankly, I don't care. I was really happy for Tony Kanaan to get his first sip of the milk, but I do wish they had been able to finish under the green flag. I've had a hard time warming up to him, probably because it seems like he tends to go negative (too much IMO). But he's probably the driver who's shown the most improvement this year. Re: Perez driving today
The thing that struck me about today was he fell prey to a common mistake by gamblers, to fit in a Monte Carlo metaphor, in not knowing when he's pressed his luck too far. He drove aggressively throughout the race, and managed to make it work for him several times. But that aggressiveness comes with...

I was guessing it was just skipped for this race, given the unique situation with trophy presentation/podium for Monaco. I've actually gotten so that I don't mind them this year. It did the 1st time or 2 I watched it. In the times since, its more of a feeling of what a loss it was for fans who missed out on a full career to watch. I agree it was definitely one-sided, but it was also "Senna", not "Senna/Prost" or "The Japanese GP incidents" so I understand that it was about S...

The stands were half empty. That's the best reason for dropping it imo And that's not half empty with a lot of stands... that's half empty for a circuit that holds 30k-35k! I've got to give Di Resta credit for a very good race today. Re: Rioting in Bahrain is going on now. Will they race?
I'd be perfectly happy to see this race fall off the calender at any time since we're going to be bumping up against the 20-race restriction. A race in front of 30k or less on a colorless, lifeless sand dune/desert terrain holds no appeal for me. But the check has cleared, it will go on, unless the ...

I like Varsha's demeanor/personality more than Diffey's. (I think maybe so on those early morning races when Diffey's volume is a bit harder to take in a tired state.) Too many candidates to call in the best race in years. I would stick with the best opener in recent years. Kovalainen, Timo Glock and Kobayashi. I wouldn't call them losers, but they lost out the most. Some of the drivers replacing them are just ridicoulous.
