Re: Finally a sensible view on overtaking
I just can't call it an overtake when cars are driving under different rules at that moment. It's like watching F1 car passing GP2 car. Yes they switch places but who cares? And try to imagine some great fights in the past with DRS. Kimi VS Fisi in Suzuka. Kimi gave pressure to Fisichella who made a...

It seems to me that what a lot of people are missing here is that the reason Bernie and/or Todt refuse to go back is not because the new qualy is a disaster, but because they know what that system will get them and that will be 2 Mercs, 2 Ferraris, 2 Williams, 2 Red Bulls and so on. Let's act as if this morning never happened, and return to what qualifying should be: qualifying. You qualify over an hour on Friday, an hour on Saturday and you get your place on the grid according to your best time. I would love that. The small teams get tv-time (which seems to be one of Bernie's...

Re: Time to call for cockpit visor?
Formula 1 has been open cockpit series for over 60 years. The chance of drivers head being hit by something has been around over 60 years. So it's not like the risk of getting headinjury has recently increased. It's just that the safety hysteria has increased lately.

The proper trophies often still exist, we just don't see them because they're handed out behind closed doors. At Silverstone last year Hamilton was essentially given an advert on the podium and the real trophy afterwards away from prying eyes. Somehow that makes it seem even worse to me! Well I fin...

Re: Press release from the strategy group
FIA should just admit that they don't consider F1 as sport but as TV entertainment. I find it absurd to even discuss sprint races instead of qualifying. They created that F1 themed podium, so they obviously want to ride with F1's long and glorious history. And at the same time they want to burn ever...

I fell in love with F1 because of the purity of the sport, something American racing no longer has. This trying to script excitement is wrong, and will never work. Why are they calling it revolution? Last V10s produced 1000 hp and they didn't have revlimiters or compound limits like they probably would in 2017 and ten years ago the aerodynamics were much more developed than now since FIA wanted to simplify the to make overtaking possible. So we would be roughl...

Problem isn't the engine size or aspiration. Problem is that they have rev limiters and the teams aren't allowed to develop them and that teams can't never use their dull potential because they have to save them for the next race. I would say same engine rules as we had 15 years ago but with V6 turb...

If the point of qualifying is to set a starting order the best system is the one hour Q.
This current isn't bad but it's clearly designed for TV with all drama of dropping in first Q. I want my F1 to be sport and not AMerican Idol.

Yes It's nonsense to say that refueling robs us overtakes since nowadays overtakes are either made by DRS or caused by artificial performance gap between tires. The best car-driver combination that complies with the rules shouldn't be hampered so that another team whose car isn't as good or driver isn't as good can catch up. F1 should just start to live up to its budgets. Teams spend millions and we got tires at can't take 5 laps of racing. And if you put DRS into a GP2 car you would probably see more artificial action with less money.
