Congrats Nico. Was really happy to see him take the championship.
Hamilton will probably now know what Massa felt. Hamilton's season is similar to Massa's '08 with some poor reliability, winning most races in season but still just coming up short.

If he was in that Merc this year, I honestly think we would have seen a Schumacher level of dominance, I really believe he is driving that well at the moment.

Most of Australia's tracks are backwater paddocks and complete and utter rubbish. An F1 car could get around nearly all of our circuits in well under a minute (even our V8 supercars can). Bathurst and Phillip Island are only international grade permanent tracks we have.

Montoya also crossed that same line. And was publicly criticised for it. I bet we hear nothing about it from the Max cheerleading squad.

Really want a RIC win here to make up for Spain and Monaco. He is really good around here so its certainly possible. Will be hard though with Max's confidence sky high in the Red Bull. Re: Ricciardo Vs Verstappen - Who will come out on top?
Verstappen was closer in qualifying in Spain than Kvyat was in 3 out of the first 4 races. Then followed up with matching Ricciardo for pace in the race, something Kvyat hadn't yet accomplished in 2016. Spain was not a good indicator to compare race pace. At the time both Dan and Max were driving t...

RIC must be leaving at seasons end and RB are preparing Max as lead driver for next year. Sainz and Kvyat will battle it out for the other spot. Otherwise, its one of the most ruthless driver calls i have ever seen.

Easily Ricciardo, his race on Sunday was outstanding considering where everybody thought RBR would finish up. The points total last year against Kvyat doesn't tell the whole picture of last year. RIC was the only one of the two who had a shot at a podium multiple times and even had a sniff at a race...

RIC was great to watch today, I hope there are a few podiums and with a lot of luck a win this year for him. The power unit isn't a complete fairy cakes this year and with a decent upgrade coming hopefully it can at least snap at the heals of the Ferrari.

A big part of it is that the media basically answer their own questions these days. The drivers answers are now becoming pretty useless and there is a trend now where the reporters don't even believe the answers anyway (looking at you Ted Kravitz).
