Re: Grosjean ruined Kimi 's chances for counter attack in Mo

I think Grosjean is useless but it would be a terrible idea to replace him with a rookie mid-season. With testing gone it is nigh-on impossible for a rookie to get a proper feel for the car mid season. Even an experienced driver will struggle to maximise the car unless he has some time to test it wi...

He is alright. Certainly deserves to be in a mid-field car like the FI but I doubt he will ever get a drive in a top 3 team.

Re: Will Nico Rosberg be able to compete with Hamilton

Or maybe Lewis is only a 10th or two off Nico because he's been studying Rosbergs telemetry? It's as possible as the crackpot theory I just read! That is a very good point, it did not occur to me. When Lewis came to Mercedes obviously the first thing he wanted to do was get a handle on how to drive...

Re: Will Nico Rosberg be able to compete with Hamilton

Nico is quite fast this year but I think a lot of the credit for that has to go to Hamilton, Nico has had the chance to study Hamiltons telemetry which is something most drivers would kill for. He has obviously learnt a few things from Lewis. Lewis has likely been driving slowly on purpose for the l...

Did you miss the race today? The way he dominated this weekend is exactly how top drivers establish themselves... Top drivers show brilliance throughout their career. The car just happens to be very fast in quali right now, and he is doing a solid job making the most of it. If you think that was so...

Re: How long before Rosberg will be considered as top driver

I don't think he will ever be considered an elite driver. He is a good all-round driver but one who has never shown any flashes of brilliance. He is definitely a good choice as a #2 driver to pair with Hamilton, because #2 drivers don't need to be amazing, they just need to be good enough to bring s...

Kovalainen would be a good replacement but they should have been to give him the drive for the full year including pre season testing. It is too late now, even though Kova is a solid driver he would be playing too much catch up. This 'rolling contract' is a silly gesture by Lotus because realistical...

That was a pretty bad showing by Rosberg, only 0.091s faster than Lewis, despite Nico having been settled in the team for 3 years and the car is an evolution of previous cars. It does not look good for Rosberg, hopefully he can find some extra speed because he is so far being soundly beaten by Hamil...

Maybe its not that the Mercedes is fast, it is that the other cars are slow. And deliberately slow because they are designed to manage the tyres properly.

They have a pedal powered chassis that Paul Hembry pedals around the carpark. It can go for hundreds of miles on a single set of tyres so these wear issues are a complete mystery. It is obviously some correlation problem but im sure they will get to the bottom of it.
