Massa vs Barrichello
Hi guys With Massa reaching the end of his career, I was wondering how he measured up against Rubens. Both of them enjoyed stints in cars that won the title/ could win the title, although it evaded them both. Both spent a lengthy period at Ferrari as the number two driver to a world champion. Both w...

Hi guys, I'd like to play a little game. We've had tons of discussions about who the greatest driver of all time is. I'd like to do something a little different. I'm going to set up different categories below, and you have to pick any F1 driver ever who you think was the best in that particular rega...

How would you improve the TV experience?
Hi guys I was thinking the other day about a few changes I'd make to the pictures that are actually shown to the TV audience at home during a race weekend. For one thing, during Qualifying especially, I really like when we get to go on-board with the driver. The external shots tend to really slow do...

Do we need better-looking trophies?
Hi guys. It seems to me that in recent times, so many of the trophies the drivers receive on the podium are really generic. For example, Monaco, Russia and Austria this year each simply had a trophy in the shape of the track layout. Some of the trophies are downright ugly and appear to have cost abo...

Quick statistical question
Hi guys Quick question on the meaning of the word "podium" when it comes to a driver's career statistics. Let's take Kimi as an example: 20 victories 84 podiums Should that be read as: - Kimi has 20 victories and an additional 84 podium finishes (2nd and 3rd places) OR as - Kimi has been on the podi...

Re: Are slicks or grooved tyres better visually?
I like the grooved tyres better, because they add more visual complexity. But then my favorite cars were 2007/2008, so I fully expect to be in the minority! :D Don't worry, I also liked the look of the 2008 cars. The wide rear wing coupled with the thinner, more pointed noses and the complex aerody...

Are slicks or grooved tyres better visually?
Hey guys Watching the cars go around Monaco in the wet, they looked so different to me with the grooved full wet tyres on, and I felt it made for a nice visual change of pace (pun intended). I know that slicks are faster than grooved tyres (for dry weather I mean) but in terms of a purely visual sta...

DOTD: Kimi Raikkonen. I was initially disgusted by his qualifying because he seemed to have the measure of Sebastian in Q1 and Q2 before not giving it full beans in Q3. His racing however was top notch. I was worried about his alternative strategy but he absolutely flew on the Mediums and made drivi...

Important to note as well: Raikkonen's average is a tenth down on Nico's, but over 19 vs 13 laps. If you only consider Kimi's first 13 laps, he is in fact marginally quicker than Nico. Of course, being a disappointment in Q3 today doesn't help the Finn's cause.

Great article, disagree on Ferrari though. Vettel WAS quicker as you say but given Raikkonen's puncture which led to damage on the floor and general loss of performance, i feel he maximised his possibilities. Split points for me personally.

I disagree. It might not bring any extra points to the team but try as we might we can't lose the individual aspect to the sport. So i say in the absence of some formal agreement, let them race. Besides, racing is these guys' day job, lets back them to get it right more often than not.

I like it the way it is. For me, a driver who qualified ahead of another driver and then drove in such a way as to lap him has already made his point. There's no need to prove he can go faster again. Re: So, in which years did the car NOT make the champion ?
Only started watching in 2007, so I'll go from there: 2007: MP4-22 and F2007 were very close IMO, and I think here it really was an on-fire Kimi Raikkonen who went on a charge who had the team behind him that ultimately proved better than a divided McLaren team who lost it when it mattered. 2008: Th...

Ferrari's pretty crazy to take on two drivers who've struggled with the current formula, imo. Same as the strategy of Kimi 2007 and Vettel 2010, or probably any contender for whom it isn't entirely in their own hands: Charge over the line in first place and let pressure or a touch of fortune do the rest.

Maybe I'm a bit of a cynic, but I think Nico would take all the tellings off in the world in exchange for adding 18 points to the gap today. Not that I think it was intentional; I just think this whole "Oooo Nico you're in truh-buhl" will generally be met by a polite shrug from the German.

My opinion concerning Jenson has gone through a few changes over the years.
