Re: Why do the younger drivers lack the ability to overtake?
The standard of driving is vastly improved over 15-20 years ago. Partly this down to the cars being more stable (remember in the late 80s early 90s were drivers spinning on their own was very common), but also the number of collisions is way down (Abu Dhabi excluded, that seems to buckk the trend). ...

Wow, you're a bit sanctimoniuos. Everyone makes mistakes, especially under the circumstances, deal with it. +1 It baffles me that people see behaviour like that and simply get on their high horse, maybe there's a reason behind it? Most people don't do things like that without external factors (chec...

Roman has poor race craft, he needs to calm down at the starts, to aggressive. He can be good but with silly starts and crashes he won't stay in F1 for long again, he needs to be consistent. Also pointless thread. Why is this a pointless thread. Whether people think Grosjean is worthy of being an F...

I fail to see why Alonso is being called inconsistent. He is one of only two drivers to score points every race, and one of only two drivers to have three podiums. He also leads the WDC.

We are getting carried away here. 4 of the six races have been won from pole, of the other two one was jumbled due to rain and the other was won by the driver 1st after the first corner. I think the teams are complaining because they haven't worked it out yet, the cars seems to suit certain tracks o...

2) Gone are the days of a car catching one in front ar 1.5-2 seconds a lap and having no chance of an overtake. I'm not convinced about DRS as that isn't fair to all drivers but it is a better comprimise than manual gearboxes (missed gearchanges used to create overtaking oppotunities) or massive re...

They all get the same tyres. If one team can make them work then the others just need to work harder/be cleverer/change their car. Normally, yes. But if the sweet spot is so small that the best engineers in the world can only find it occasionally, or by accident, then it’s too small. There has to b...

I think the teams will understand them by later in the season. Last year they ended the season getting many more laps out of the tyres than at the start. Ideally these tyres will then stay for next year to allow the cars to better exploit them, but still providing a number of different strategies. ...

The only issue I have is with DRS because it gives an advantage to one car. Tyres and DRS are the same for everyone. Get rid of the tyres and it would be quite dull, the only other way would be to stop car to pit telemetry in real time so they have to download the data post race. If teams with great...

Also it would only be 27 sets of extra tyres per weekend which is not a lot compared to some other options. But I thought the idea was to have a solution that doesn't cost a lot. There are currently 360 sets of tyres allocated for each weekend - another 27 will not break the bank. Or tyres could be...
