Re: 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread

Gravel traps or those horrible kerbs will definitely prevent driver from exceeding track limits. Does anyone know how much difference those Hamilton 29laps made ? It's impossible to really know. I have read that he immediately went quicker when he stopped doing it, for what that's worth. Personally...

Re: Brawn: Tsunoda F1's Best Rookie for Years

Based on the performance in this race alone, i don't really see it as being that special. That car looked either 3rd or 4th best. Even with perez not getting through, Tsunoda didn't manage to either. He had a bad start which he admitted to and while he recovered to 9th the main reasons he got there...

Worst possible start with 2 penalties in 2 days for Vettel. But since it going to take some races before AM gets competitive he has sometime. It is a big project. It is not doom and gloom what some like to think. He has not forgotten how to drive a car so things will only get better with time :-|

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix

I am not convinced at all that Mercedes was a slower car when Bottas was basically matching Hamilton’s race pace throughout the entire race. Absolutely. IMO media was building too much unwanted hype about RBR performance. Not sure about the problem Max had with the tyres, differential issues. I tho...

Re: 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread

I knew Mercedes was going to be strong in the race. Their strategy was also better especially for Hamilton. The track has lot of run off and the Hamilton mistake was in nice spot which did not make difference in the end. If RBR can keep developing their car it is going to very close battle. Midfield...

I know we are only one weekend in, but the fact that Vettel couldn’t even match Stroll for pace is just tragic. Alonso has been out of the sport for years and beat Ocon right away. I missed the qualifying but great to know Max is P1. Disappointing result especially for Perez, Vettel and Yuki. I think it was almost entirely bad luck for vettel though. Stroll easily got through to Q3, so that isn't representitive for Vettel. Stroll however looked to underperform a little in q3,...

Yuki time is pretty good which suggest me RBR has lot more speed. Though may be it is the track or conditions suits their car. Gasly got P4 some year back in STR. I think they were 80bhp down to Mercedes so definitely the weakest by far and they were compensating with aero, smaller rear ring which Vettel hates. If AT had been more consistent I think even they could have beat them last year. I still think Ferrari will be in that tight midfield battle this year.

The early VSC completely ruined this race as it was too predictable But still Mercedes and Hamilton especially were very dominant on this track for many many years. So RBR being so good here is a good sign. Very surprising race IMO. Hopefully RBR can be good for once from the start next year.
