Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
Apparently Marko was in the meeting where it was decided Horner was going to be sacked and it happened before Silverstone and he was informed on Monday and Tuesday was his farewell speech, his last day in the office. To me it seems the Austrian side did not like Horner, it was a political decision a...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
This is useful from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/articles/ceq7z05ype7o Horner has made several obviously poor decisions in the last couple of years but it also gives the impression of a team scared to upset the Verstappen camp. This touches on an element i definitely think is true ...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
Why did they have to fire him immediately. They did not even wait for the end of the year or Summer break. Anyways, Max is the most important asset of RBR, more important than people who make the car or the leadership. He is the only one that scores points for them. But I am not sure sacking Horner ...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
I doubt either of these drivers would want to drive RBR against Max and ruin their career Does it even matter what Max is doing in the car? Yuki's results lately would look dire if he was alone, never mind Max. Although he is missing the upgrades Max is having. I agree he has been the slowest drive...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
Makes you wonder who would actually want to drive for Red Bull, even without Max there? Seems like career suicide. I agree. Rosberg said Hadjar should avoid going to RBR. IMO Lawson is now much happier in RB and Perez stock are getting up for doing nothing. I am sure everyone would be strawberry on...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread
I was expecting much closer race, it was easy 1-2 for Mclaren. Amazing result for Hulk as well. Max for some reason after SC was not much better than midfield teams. Leclerc and Yuki had another shocker. The McLaren is just too good at moment ,even in the last race while others are trying to contro...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I was expecting RBR to be much faster. I think Max has made the difference again just like Suzuka and Saudi. Bearman and Gasly in Q3 did much better than expected. Ferrari as well looked impressive all weekend.

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I think RBR has an upgrade at least for Max, fast corner, long straight low temps. Max needs a win here to keeps his hopes alive for WC. In normal conditions I think both Mclaren and Max will be on podium. Mercedes also performs well in lower temperature. Hamilton will do well to beat Leclerc. I am...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Bortoleto had a good weekend. He was consistently top10 all weekend and Lawson first good race this year. He did well in Moncao qualifying as well but there also he was couple of tenths down. Kimi was impressive. Did not expect him to be on podium. He was 4 tenths off Russell in qualifying. So this was I thought very impressive performance. Norris was definitely faster than Piastri but that crash could cost him.

Re: 2025 Canadian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I stand corrected. You can polish a turd but no-one will ever be able to make Lance Stroll a good Formula One driver. I am sure he is the worst driver in F1. Colapinto sadly looks the slowest since his return on pure pace but I am sure he will get better. He has beat Albon last year couple of times...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
Lawson only finished the 1 race as Max's teammate and was 12th - same as Tsunodas first result as Max's teammate. So Lawson would immediately to the left of Tsunodas line Lawson was only ahead of Saubers in China on merit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hml6MaRRkn8&t=366s If I remember correctly n...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
Well Horner's explanation at the time was that they felt Lawson temperament would be more suited to dealing with being Max's teammate and the pressure of being in the A team. Doubt that's the whole story and the timing/location of the switch lends weight to idea that there was more to it. Either wa...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?
Yes, he is doing better. I think it is similar to Perez in second half. He is fighting for P9-P10 and on par with best midfield teams. Lawson even on FP was always at bottom 5 if I remember correctly. Marko has also said he has shown promise but I am not sure he will be there if he does not improve....

He destroyed the car in Imola qualifying. Alonso finally got a point but this race he was lucky with the SC. Sauber had good pace in the midfield and Williams first bad race. Mclaren just have to make sure they do not have reliability issues. Mercedes engine failing again will be a concern for them.

RB and Williams were clever with the strategy. I think next year if both team mate are behind each other they are going to play the same game. All drivers that came to pits early lost. Due to different strategies and tyre difference it was definitely much better race and we had quite a lot of overtaking as well which is usually rare on this track.

Russell and Hamilton got some 10secs advantage due pitting on VSC. So Max and Sainz lost 1 position due to it. But Sainz again behind Albon. Probably Albon best performance, he was on merit P5
