Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

Clearly the current drivers cannot extract a great deal of performance from the W15 and they were also struggling with the W14 and the W13. In my view the drivers are unable to drive around some of the unwieldy characteristics of the current generation of Mercedes cars. That leads to a downwards sp...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

Perhaps Mercedes is gambling that Verstappen can extract more performance from a fickle car and thus propel the team forward. You mean a team that seems to be completely lost it's just a matter of motivation, they are not trying hard enough, even Verstappen doesn't believe that, you're not going to...

I put him 10th. I still don't think there are any outstanding candidates to take that spot.... Perhaps Guy Ligier or Peter Sauber. One of Peter Sauber, Ken Tyrrell, or Paul Stoddart could easily replace Wolff on the list. Wolff literally brought nothing to the sport as team principal. This is proba...

We take for granted that Newey will either stay in formula 1 or retire, but there is another possibility. He could take his God given talent somewhere else. Here is a quote from 2014, when Newey engaged himself in America's Cup: "Newey has long talked about the America's Cup as a challenge that sti...

This is awesome news. Newey definately doesnt fit in with red bulls bs, this is like Galen Erso escaping the empire. Newey has lived with a dark mark on his record since 1994, so all this spiel as if he’s above controversy or some extremely noble, almost divine being is horse manure. And if that’s ...

Sainz would be incredibly stupid to take the Audi drive over an absolute certain WDC shot in a Red Bull in 2025. If Audi don't get Sainz they'll likely pair 38 year old Hulkenberg with 36 year old Bottas. It's not like the Audi opportunity isn't going to come back around. I completely disagree. "IF...

IDK what the heck you're rambling about. You're all over the place and seem to be reading off random Wiki Pages or were suffering a stroke while you rote that. IN 2014 there is absolutely ZERO CHANCE Ferrri wanted Verstappen and to say otherwise is absurd. Jos "CLAIMS" that in 2016 Ferrari and Merce...

Is it reactionary... Leclerc has generally been a better driver than Sainz but only managed to convincingly beat him over a season once in three years. No, I think it's an attempt by Ferrari to get the best team possible. I also think it might be a mistake. Now, I'm not about to suggest that Hamilton is at the same level now as Kimi in 2014 -- but to me, this feels the same as bringing Kimi in to partner Alonso at the start of the hybrid era. Ferr...

Nothing Stroll is doing has any effect on how good Alonso looks. Alonso is driving lights out in a car that on its day, at the right track is really decent.

Verstappen’s performances with inferior cars in 2019 and 2020 are miles above Hamilton in 2022 and 2023 with a comparable deficit. I don’t understand how this is even remotely debatable. Last year Lewis had the 3rd best car which he brought to be the 2nd best after RB. 3rd best car in 2019 and probably 2nd best car in 2020. Both miles off as the fastest car.
