Re: 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix FP & Sprint Qualy/Race Thread

A quick read of the posts and nobody seems to have pointed out that the Mercedes rear wing was damaged, I wonder if this now sets a precedent that having a car damaged during competition can now not be used as force majuere when it comes to passing scrutineering. If you’ve ever used digital equipme...

Re: Brazil 2021 - Should Max have been given a Penalty

Well now I've seen Max's onboard I think I'll stick my initial assessment. He didn't really open up the steering, he just ran deep to stay alongside Hamilton and then didn't really try to make the turn when he could have as he knew that would potentially allow Hamilton to carry his momentum round t...

No they couldn’t/should’t Because the W series doesn’t provide a good enough assessment of their talent & skill level. They wouldn’t have earned points towards a super license, hence the need to go to F2 or similar.

Jamie Chadwick has confirmed that she will not return to W Series next season, she wants to race in an FIA single seat series higher than regional F3 (presumably FIA F3), WEC LMP2 and Extreme E. That'll keep her busy! W Series are yet to announce who are the 8 drivers who are guaranteed a seat next...

With a couple of exceptions the current formula 1 grid is not on the same level as the grid from the late mid to late 90s. Kudos for hitting something right on target for this thread, because I have a feeling that this is a very unpopular opinion! I tend to think the late 1990s was one of the weake...

Does Horner shoulder any blame for Red Bull’s relative lack of competitiveness from 2014-2020 and Red Bull falling out with Renault? Of course he does, but, on his and the team's behalf, The Hybrid Renault engine was pretty abysmal for the time they ran them so he perhaps gets a bit of a pass on th...

Horner might be a bit of a whiner but the man has proven a successful leader since he was out in charge of the Red Bull team. As so often before, I find it frustrating that there is supposed to be a "rule" that the driver ahead at the apex can run the outside off the track. The stewards don't refer to that rule with a reference, they do somehow decide Verstappen attempted his manoeuvre too late to have "the right to racin...

It exactly because of him not being penalised is why he keeps getting involved in incidents and it wont stop till he gets some serious penalty. I completely disagree that it's not fair and feel it's more the fact of you get out of anything what you into it. In this case it's money and money buys more highly skilled personnel and affords teams to pay their employees more overtime in order to refine designs and systems more thoroughly. When t...

My favorite era of cars is the 1960s; I think they're beautiful, and the way they slide makes it very difficult for a driver to find the limit and drive consistently at it. The 1980s are often seen as a golden era, and there's some objective reasoning to go with that. Multiple strong champions figh...

Aston Martin just don't like to be penalised for anything, the car ran out of fuel but no it was a fuel pump failure just after the car finished the race, very convenient.
