Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

Most logical solution: Mercedes sign Verstappen to partner Russell and then loan Antonelli to Alpine for 2026 (and beyond if necessary). Russell/Verstappen is obviously incredibly volatile but there is no justification for dropping George beyond that combustibility, while Antonelli is hands down the...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Austria 2025

Wow; I haven't voted (and see little need to frankly), but viewing the results is interesting: the first 8 of 8 teammate "wars" provide exactly zero votes for the second in the pair (even Verstappen - who barely made one corner in the effort over Tsunoda). Wow, this is getting mundane, is it not? G...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Austria 2025

A quick turnaround for Silverstone means a quick write up from my side.  Half of the field retain a 100% record versus their teammate after the Canada vote, with Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, George Russell, Isack Hajdar and Nico Hulkenberg all continuing their perfect starts. Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Canada 2025

I would guess sympathy that a potential Q2 lap was ruined by the red flag in Q1, combined with then moving forwards in the race whilst Colapinto went backwards. Can't say I really subscribe to either argument, particularly not in the race where I believe Franco's loss of position was more down to st...

Voted Hamilton as he was ahead when he sustained damage. Other than that all my picks are self explanatory. Same, mine are all siding with the current leader except Lewis. And to expand on why I voted for him, I felt the two Ferrari drivers both had reasons why you could pick them and mitigating ci...

PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Canada 2025

Spain's TMW results saw, well, much of the same to be honest. It was one of those races where the majority of the vote winners were already ahead, with the only exceptions being Carlos Sainz slightly reducing his deficit to Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly/Oscar Piastri both nudging ahead by breaking the...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?

Clearly? Is he though? What are you seeing that makes it so clear? I think he's is doing very very slightly better than Lawson managed but it's so marginal I think given more races Lawson would have been the same. Also let's not forget that in F1 terms, Tsunoda is vastly more experienced than Lawso...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Spain 2025

Why is Albon getting votes? Didn't he have a bit of a nightmare? Both had terrible weekends but Albon at least nearly dragged the car into Q3 and the front wing damage he got at turn one was not at all his fault. Lawson tried to make a very low percentage move up the inside of Alonso, ran out of sp...

Re: Is Yuki actually doing a better job than Lawson might?

I think Yuki and Hadjar are both a couple of tenths clear of Lawson, who in my opinion has shown only that he shouldn't be on the grid. I fully expect him to be bounced out by Red Bull next year for Lindblad, maybe even before the end of 2025. At the same time, Yuki is clearly not even close to Max...

At what point do we consider Piastri to be a more complete driver than Norris? Personally I don't think we're there yet but we must be getting damn close. If the trend continues over the next 2-3 races, maybe the conversation needs to be had. Barcelona provided a strong comparison between the two M...

Re: Who is favourite for the championship?

I'm guessing today will see the voting swing more towards Oscar! For the moment I'm still sticking with Max, but again for me it's very much dependent on the flexi wing TD eroding McLaren's advantage. There will still be 2/3 of the season left at that point and if it means Max has a car that is onl...
